Too Barbara - that was totally awesome and it proves something that we all are akin one with another, thanks for sharing.
I rescued a scared little dog from the pound who had been mistreated something awful, scared out of her wits, but for some reason she took to me right away, today she is less scared and not skinny anymore, so glad I did that. JackieO

I was walking through orchards and woods that are behind my house, and I was startled by something running towards me from the woods. I realized it was a newborn fawn. Legs long and wobbly, he ran right up to me and we stared at each other. I spoke and said hello, he was as shocked as I was. It was a once in a lifetime event. I tried to take a picture but in the sun could not see my phone details. He decided he wanted to walk on, so I said go find your Mama, he turned and looked at me with his ears upright, then turned and ran into the woods. I hope his Mama told him never to do such a thing again. While walking home on this Father's day I saw a miracle and wondered if my Dad who died in 1996 had just sent me a gift on this day alone by myself. I think he did. Thank you Dad.

What a heartwarming picture, Linda (Slasberg)! Every home should, indeed, be a haven to every animals, after all, we, humans must protect them from every conceivable harm and cruelty.

Music is looked upon as something serious and holy, designed to purify the feelings of the people. The enthusiasm of the heart expresses itself involuntarily in a burst of song or the rhythmic movement of the body. From immemorial times the inspiring affects that moves all hearts, and draws them together, has mystified mankind.
The ancient kings made music in order to honor merit, and offered it with splendor to the Supreme Deity inviting their ancestors to be present. In the Temple folks drew near to God with music and pantomimes. The Ancestors were invited to these divine rituals as guests of the ruler of heaven and as representatives of humanity in the higher regions. This uniting of the human past with the Divinity in revering his ancestors with solemn moments of spiritual inspiration established the bond between God and man. Our first Earthdance and Theater.

For the first time this year I witnessed a deer swimming across a bay to an island. I was fishing with my friend from Minnesota. We also had a pair of Eagles visit us and swoop to catch a fish in front of our boat. The loons had not left for the south and greeted us daily.
I have surrounded myself with animals all of my life, for they can be trusted one hundred percent. My chocolate lab Caleb, helped me deal with some of the most difficult times in my life. He is waiting for me on the other side, some day we will be re-united again. Blessings to all of the creatures of the world.

One area of focus for Born Free USA is the plight of birds. Today, nearly 12 percent of the world’s 9,800 bird species may face extinction within the next century and millions of captive birds lead miserable lives languishing in cages because their keepers fail to understand their unique needs.

As part of our effort to raise awareness about the plight of birds we host “National Bird Day” held on January 5 of each year. In addition to our educational activities (see www.NationalBirdDay.com) we are working with CMarket Auction to host a special online auction from January 5 – 16, 2010. One of the projects that the online auction will raise money for this year is to provide parrot conservation scholarships for college students in Guatemala.

The online auction is now open with great deals for a great cause.
