Simply thankful for life, and for the life I see all around me, even to the very tiny things. May every thought and action in every day be Blessing to those around me.

Let Thanksgiving day be a reminder that everyday should be a day of gratitude. I am grateful for my wonderful family and friends. Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving Day - Everyday!
WORD FOR THE DAY (gratefulness.org)
Thursday, Nov. 26

Everyday, think as you wake up:
Today I am fortunate to have woken up.
I am alive. I have a precious human life.
I am not going to waste it.
I am going to use all my energies to
develop myself to expand my heart out
to others for the benefit of all beings.

Jes. thanks for the "fond thoughts of Barry!"
Here is another Giving Thanks (my favorite holiday) Quote:

Giving thanks releases joy - Happy Thanksgiving!
The secret of the power of joy
is this
giving thanks releases joy.
This feeling, this realizaton of joy
is all that matters.

Thank you, drmike and Jesse for your compassion shown me for losing my brother in Viet Nam! He refused to fly "gun ships", and the Army was more than happy to have him pilot Medivacs, as it was the most dangerous job in the war, as it was relatively unarmed and was sent into the worst places to pick up the wounded. He had only two weeks left and they were not supposed to fly combat during their last month (13th) over there. When it happened I felt it in my soul and tore up the barracks where I was stationed in Alaska. Three days later, a chaplain came to me to tell me the news, I was prepared and took it calmly. However, the grief and survivor's guilt toxic combo. effected me for many years. Especially, that Barry was the "apple of my Mom's eye", and I was not there, because he was. I did feel that Barry was with me during all those years of adventurous sailing/travel.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING ALL! "The older I get the more beautiful life becomes."

Just checking in....I'm also sorry to hear about your brother too Ron--men who made the ultimate sacrifice, whether warranted or not, just trying to serve. I'm grateful to know that it is O.K. for me not to know every damned thing viz, politics, economy, environment, people, whatever!!! I certainly get comfort today in realizing how little I can affect much of this, other than within myself and the small circle of influence that exists. There is a WILL for me, which may already be predetermined as far as I know.

My son is six tomorrow. That is a blessing, although I thought parenthood would be a lot different than this. It's the true litmus test for me to be consistent with my thoughts, feelings, words, and action. The true test for me to be the man I want to be, the greatest challenge I ever had to face. Thank God I don't do it alone. I'm grateful for this time.

Best, Mike
