I am new to the world of meditation as a practice, but I find my safe place on a beach, in the woods, in my garden, or with music. I yearn to find peace in all aspects of my life. I yearn to be strong and resilient in my world of turmoil and stress. If I do not succeed I will self destruct and my life will be for nothing. That simply will not be the case.

Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful meditation with us! I do agree that the connection with heart chakra and the feeling of true love is the key to get deeper.

Lately I visited my friend who also practices the meditation and there was one book that caught my eye. It is Sri Shinmoy's book about the meditation. Here's one nice meditation from this book that I'd like to share with you. This is very simple, yet effective breathing exercise. It is called 1-4-2 breathing. When breathing in focus on God's, favorite master's name, on personal mantra, word love or whatever gives you the strong feeling of connection with your higher nature. It is better than just counting the numbers that may become too mechanical. When breathing in use the word one times, when keeping the breath, four times and when breathing out two times. If you have already practiced some breathing before and it seams too easy, you can also use
4-16-8 breathing. Trust the feeling that you have inside. It is possible to use 8-32-16 as well, but that really needs practicing before. From my experience, keeping the breathing out when repeating the name 16 times and staying focused on true feeling is the most difficult. The most important is to stay focused on the feeling and not to loose it as it becomes far less effective when done in just a mechanical way.
Much love, -Silja
And thank you all for the dedication and love that you're sharing here!

Dear Architects,

we are the dreaming people – a collective of creative and creating spirits, involved in music, arts and spiritual activism.and we feel honored to be a part of the meditation group. Today we want to contribute a meditation practice, which is enjoyable and effective – the Heartmath meditation.May be some of you already heard about it or already practicing it.If you want to you can google h'm'm and you will find a lot of interesting information. Here's the method we recommend.

Go into your favorite meditation position – and create stillness,as far as you're able. Then concentrate on your heart chakra. Stay there for a while. Your breath is flowing calm and easy. Now connect with a person,or a melody,or an image – anything what creates a loving feeling for you - and merge with that feeling. Stay in it for a while, enjoy it. Then slowly spread that feeling. Connect with the place where you live. Merge slowly with the whole planet. Then spread it out into the galaxy. Then the whole multiverse. What counts here is the authenticity of your feeling, easily created through the connection of your individual image. That makes it very powerful, also in terms
of planetary, collective healing. We hope we could give a new impulse to you all.

The gift of (constant)meditation in general is,as we see it,the real chance for the personal change. Metamorphosis. Transformation on all levels of your being,if you stay with it. Deep inner peace(balance) is guaranteed. The seed to bring peace, balance into the world.

one love

Creatng Space - Another Benefit of Meditation

Creating Space to Receive

Nature abhorring a void?

Great quote... and especially meaningful for me today... as I prepare for the silence of a sattipattana (vipassana meditation) retreat I'm leaving for tomorrow. I'm going to 'create capacity.'

I've noticed a pattern of the most unique and meaningful experiences occurring following these retreats into silent meditation. Perhaps by letting go of the busyness, I am creating capacity or space for that which truly belongs to me.

I was lucky enough to see Pharoah Sanders and Alice Coltrane at UCLA in the early '90s. It was an experience which was just a pure blessing in itself. As I recall it, he played this number, from the "Karma" album. Something we all could meditate on to get out of negativity.....The text is as follows:

The Creator has a working plan - peace and
happiness for every man.

The Creator has a master plan - peace and
happiness for every man.

The Creator makes but one demand, happiness
thru all the land.

William,
Well, this is so right! If the food is grown with the love and by using ecological methods, it carries much more light. There have been many absolutely extraordinary photos to show it. The good intention builds the strong influence and the whole cosmical systems comes to support it. Thank you so much for the great answer!

I second that Silja. Food in its natural state carries the beauty of all the days it has grown. Take an Apple for instance. It has been with the sun and moon and birds etc,. This is why foods in there natural state are so good for you and what you eat effects your energy and mind from my experiance. Yes, let out intentions be to bless our food. It blesses us as well!~Happy new year to all and Love & Light~b

I just wanted to share the idea of how much it can change for us if we give the blessings to all the water and food that we eat. It also helps to feel the strong connection with the present moment. Thank you all for the contribution and I wish this new year to give you the best opportunities for the inner growth! Love and joy for you. Thank you.
