I too have found my searched path
laid across softer grass
seeking those that shine through light,
shadow grasping a new kind of right.

First Light After the New Moon

Silver sliver fingernail points
From star and bright planet
To new earth pregnant now
Expectation and hope aligned.

Silver sliver sends a shiver
Down the mountainside
Creatures in the dark
Awaiting our decision and action.

Which way my brothers and sisters?
Toward peace and sanity?
Onward into the abyss of destruction?
Prayers rise up from tiny lives.

Oh, womb of the mind of man
Reach up with your innocence
And grasp the love that awaits
In the true heart of oneness.

That poem below by Jack's 9 yr. old son Jamie belongs on a more longlasting "discussion" above. Thank you, it really touches me deeply.

I Am Poem

Earlier this month I posted in the Gratitude Group that my nine year old son Jamie taught me as much about gratitude as anyone else. That has now been reinforced even more deeply. A few hours after catching up with Architects' Rick Lukens in San Rafael I received an email from my wife with the following poem from nine year old Jamie. It totally blew me away - trust you enjoy it.

I AM POEM, by Jamie Heath

I am quirky and creative

I wonder why the ocean chose to have waves

I hear the children of the wind whispering to each other’s souls

I see a twinkle in your eyes

I want to open my door

I am creative and curious.

I pretend to be someone else

I feel the courage of a lion’s heart

I touch my second mother’s hand

I worry that someone is walking into the light

I cry sometimes to feel what it’s like in someone else’s shoes

I am curious and nosy.

I understand why the sun choses to be replaced by the moon

I say everyone deserves a second chance

I dream to be a better person

I try to make everything better

I hope friends last forever

I now know who I am.
