Quote Of The Day By Lynn Fishman

DO NOT RESIST CHANGE. FLUIDITY OF THE MIND IS KEY TO SUCCESSFUL TRANSFORMATION.

Whosoever wishes to know about the world must learn about it in its particular details.

Knowledge is not intelligence.

In searching for the truth be ready for the unexpected.

Change alone is unchanging.

The same road goes both up and down.

The beginning of a circle is also its end.

Not I, but the world says it: all is one.

And yet everything comes in… Continue

Can We Get Off The Merry-Go-Round?

I have been reading and researching the state of the world. Mostly, I focus on the economic system. I have always been fascinated with how money works, like what is it really and why does it have such a hold on us. Since I was a child, I have been trying to understand it, but until very recently, I never really got it.

I have always had an innate belief that something about the world doesn't work for people. Usually, that unhappiness seemed to center around a lack of money, or a lack… Continue

Maslow's "Capacity to Appreciate"

WORD FOR THE DAY
Friday, Jul. 3 (gratefulness.org)

Some people have a wonderful capacity to appreciate
again and again, freshly and naively, the basic goods
of life, with awe, pleasure, wonder, and even ecstasy
.

His bed was next to the room's only window.

The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back.

The men talked for hours on end.

They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their

involvement in the military service, where they had been… Continue

THE NATURE OF LIFE

By Mary Cook, M.A., R.A.S.

With our larger brains, we have wanted to believe that we could control our planet in accordance with our short sighted, selfish wills. We forgot to consider how our decisions and actions would affect current and future generations on the earth. We neglected to consult our soul, to… Continue

Weekly Tidbit: FInding New Balance

I'm learning HTML, also known as Hypertext Mark-up Language, the predominant language for creating web pages. I remember being chastised by a friend while playing pinochle when he asked me why I played a certain card and I told him "it felt like the right move". He counted every card and calculated odds… Continue
