I am in great awe of your carving skill, and in the process of getting proper chisels myself for mask carving (plus other things). You and I must meet someday, and you are always welcome to come to Calgary and you have a place to stay here too. This is great networking, I must say!
Forgive me for assuming you did digital work, although this is still a form of high expression in my books. I saw your oil works on paper and they resembled an effect you can get with some graphic programs.I see that on the paper work, you have sometimes folded the wet paper in half to get the luscious reflection. Say, living in Vancouver, you must be familiar with Emily Carr, so you must know that some of her oil on paper works are now disintegrating because it is very difficult to prevent the oils and solvents from eating that paper. How did you protect the paper surface on your paper paintings?

I looked at your website earlier, its magnificent!
Yes, all the images I have on my page are my creation. I worked with watercolor for years but now I do a lot of work with Photoshop. A number of the images you see on my page are used on my website for my book I'm in the process of releasing

Raul, thank you for your wonderful message which i would like to comment on in more depth at a later time, as am in overwhelm right now. But let's do stay connected and consider what we might do together.
Thanks, Raul. Good eye, sand-blasted glass etching, done by my friend Duane Dearborn. I took the picture with a candle behind it. Beautiful photos you've taken! Peace, joy and wildness, DJ
Raul, thank you for sharing your beautiful art with me and becoming friends. I live on the Border in So. Calif. and every day know of those who come across from Mexico searching for a better way of life. In 1997, i wrote a proposal "Hands Across the Border: Operation Lifesave" which was presented at the highest level of government in Mexico where it was warmly received, not only by a sitting president but by an in-coming one as well. The proposal would have made Mexico a model for sustainable living for the world. But even with the kind of support we had, a friend and i from Mexico who will remain nameless, it was not to be. My heart aches for the people of that country as well as others around the world who are suppressed. May we somehow turn the tide now. with love and appreciation.
