Pets show us what love is.
myebook screengrab

The following screengrab was created from the The Value of A Life ebook by Tomaca Govan, it was sent with the following message:
What an insightful paragraph by Tomaca in her ebook:

Pets show us what love is. They will give their very lives to protect things that we may do to them out of ignorance. Their only expectation is love which they give to us throughout their lives totally unconditionally. You can't put a price on that. You can't measure the value of a life.

When the words, "I love you" are not enough I look to the wind to say it for me. The soft quiet breeze that ever so lightly kisses the branches of the tree by a dance of movement.
When the words, "I love you" are not enough I look to the birds to sing it for me. They sing proudly, piercing the quiet with the notes of joy, happiness, and love. A melody that is so unique and full of love, only a select few can understand.
When the words, " I love you are not enough I look to the sun to say it for me. It's warmth, it's light, it's ever giving source of life to the earth.
When the words, I love you are not enough, I will give you the wind, the birds, and the sun.

Arieljoy, Chincoteague is the Northern coast of N.C.. I was from the Southern part of the Outer Banks. There are thriving healthy wild horses all over the Outer Banks.
I posted below on "Angels Manifesting" group here on AOAND and started new discussion on whether or not animals could be angels or not. It is a rhetorical type of question. I am going to copy (or you can) your answer on "Angels in Your Life" and add to the new discussion. Thank you.
All of the information on this photo below is now not valid, and unfortunately the book is Out of Print as the store is out of business.

Dear Areiljoy, A close friend helped me realize how Hershey was an angel to me. My friend helped me realize that she stayed around for an extra couple of years, as I was going through a divorce and at the same time was being scapegoated by my family. She observed me reconcile with my Aunt and her 3 dogs plus nephew Barry's dog, just in last few weeks, and decided she (Hershey) could leave, as I was not so isolated anymore. thanks for your compassionate support, ron

Hi Ron,
Thank you for posting my "stuff". I love to write and it is satisfying to see it on someone else's blog. The wild horses of the Outer Banks of N.C....is that where the "Misty of Chincoteague" stories are set? I obviously haven't read them but I have heard of them.

In Love and Light,
Arieljoy

Thanks so much for your passion, Arieljoy, you can see your reply added to the poem on blessyourhearts.blogspot.com where I posted your excellent piece about animals as angels. I was born near the wild horses of the Outer Banks of N.C. thanks so much, ron

Ron,
What a beautiful tribute to Hershey. My heart goes out to you. I have burried far too many four legged friends with puppy eyes and I know the depth of my pain so I can imagine the depth of your's.

But on the other hand I am sooooo happy that the two of you shared 18 years worth of wonderful adventures that will fill your heart forever. And she loved you so much that she saved you from having to make the most difficult choice in the world.

In grief too, we are all related.

Aho! Mitakuye Oyasin,
Arieljoy

Hershey lost her puppy eyes today
Innocent, sweet, pleading, forgiving, wondering, loving
I swore I would keep her alive as long as she had her puppy eyes
The ones that can tell no lies.
I found her with those expressive eyes glazed over today
for the first time. Still warm but rigor mortis was setting in,
she left her body for greener pastures, on her own,
but not without surviving for 18 wonderful years
all with those expressive puppy eyes.
Tears come to mine, as I recall all those
adventures together from California to Carolina.
She will always live in my heart, all ways
with those precious puppy eyes.

Thank you, Jane. Actually, it's the lyrics (mine; I'm a writer) of a song set to music by my friend, Karl Grossman at Music Focus. If I can ever figure out how to upload music and voice here, I'd like to. Till then, you can hear it on my website at http://www.centersds.com/rapids.htm. Any feedback, on it or anything else there, would be welcome. Have a satisfying future, Rob

To the Memory of Robert Theobald

Rapids of Change

The River of Change flows ever on;
What's here today may soon be gone.
The River of Change runs fast and slow.
Still, some may not know about
The Rapids of Change; Rapids of Change.

We're all adrift on the River of Change,
Through an unknown land ever new and strange.
Currents tell of Change to come;
The nearness of Change will frighten some, driftin' toward
The Rapids of Change; Rapids of Change.

The roar is increasing; the sound strikes fear.
Ready or not, mates, the Rapids are near.
Gonna make this together or not at all.
Gotta pull together to clear the fall, approachin', oh, oh
The Rapids of Change; Rapids of Change.

There's a way at the fork ahead.
Take the wrong branch; we're good as dead.
On we rush at a faster pace,
Destined for this dangerous race through
The Rapids of Change; Rapids of Change.

Waves of Change crash around us.
Currents of Change encircle us all.
Boiling Change now surrounds us.
Bringing Change to one and all.

Students will teach, teachers will learn.
Things will be different beyond the turn.
Children and parents will have their way.
They'll work together and call it play, before we clear
The Rapids of Change; Rapids of Change.

Friends can be lovers then friends once more;
Who knows what the future has in store?
The fiercest of foe will yet be friend
Before we reach the end of
The Rapids of Change; Rapids of Change.

Religions, races, nations too,
Tumbling about like me and you.
Mother Earth, she's reelin' 'round,
And any time might go aground, consumed by
The Rapids of Change; Rapids of Change.
The Rapids of Change. Oh, The Rapids of Change.
