Likewise, I have a licensed local rehabber of winged ones.  Her tiny underfunded place is a blessing.  She has a resident barn owl that will never fly again who is charming and powerful medicine watching over the place and all who enter.  I've taken a grebe into her that had gotten tangled in carelessly discarded fishing line (grrrrr). It does take a special person to hold space in such a good way for our brethren.

:-) There's a lady here not far from me that is a licensed wildlife rehabilitator. I've taken a number of little creatures to her for help. You can actually feel the healing energy when around her. I'm serious, it's just as noticeable a feeling as if you step from under a shade tree into the sun on a very hot day. It's that obvious. It just feels like ... I guess comfort is the closest word. I love her Spirit.
