We’d like to show the side of the world you don’t normally see on television.

Beautifully woven, each one a vibrant word-painting of season's passage. Thoroughly enjoyed.
I thought to share the others with you I hope you enoy as you did the first
Winter
Original writing of Gavin Tonks
Injured,
Loping wind, moaning through the dry leaf, laden, grey dust
puddles, smothering covering, blanketing
Winter’s wild, wind dogs, growling hunger -
Whine, cringe, silently pad, Victim wind, hurt
Hide, cower, seek –
Aggression, tormented, eyeing, the silent invisible hunter,
Blind chase, spiral scent, scratch and bashed trees shaking
Slayer of summer, bringer of autumn to its knees
Sun sucked cold, trees shiver -
Birds twitter, heard, harsh, sound, from between,
Stark, heatless, sapless branches,
that are grey and bare the tragedy
Numb, waiting,
rainless dark, clear skies, shattered, glass marble moon
Silent winter sounds, dogs barking, murdered summer’s heat expires
Cold, silent breathy, beating heart, its winter time

pring / Summer Wind
Original writing of Gavin Tonks 26/08/2012
The wind brought summer today.
The day started a bit cold, and then the summer sun wobbled into the cool morning air.
It crested the hill and shone on the earth, just another day.
Then the wind came, not sure from where.
First it was gentle and just a breath,
But when it blew hot, I was surprised when I realised it was summer today.
The wind continued to blow a bit stronger,
Over the same hill.
Whispered words reminded me of summer coming here, and soon.
So I listened to the voices,
And there were many.
Some had words and others sounds and they all spoke of summer being all around
Some flirting, others flowed and then they poured on down the hill.
Now today and yesterday the smell of long stolen water crested the same hill,
It tantalized and promised, but wind drove it away
We wait chilled and dust choked being reminded of what we are.
Centuries of people have prayed for this same summer, so I wait as all before me have,
waited,
for the rain and liberation from dust.

Splashed patter, cold drops of rain, chilled wind
Distant rumble
Ruffles the heat away
Last bird twitters and lone cricket chirps
Light fades slowly, pending darkness, shattered tiny shards of summer trees,
Yellow and brown and tired green leaves, mosaic the mottled ground.
Golden sun falls silently, lighting the Cathedral garden, of tinted green.
Translucent gentle leaves fade to yellow and brown now rolling on the ground
Yellow summer sun trapped in amber grass, gusts of wind ensure the heat is hidden far away,
Powdery dry, longing, dormant land, demands a toll of heat.
Sun’s fading chill touch, still and quiet, brushes the sleeping trees and other life fleeing all around,
From the darkness pouring out the ground
Winter is waiting flowing all around
