Architects of a New Dawn

We’d like to show the side of the world you don’t normally see on television.

Each and every one of can make some change for the better in how we use and abuse the planet and its resources. Change to solar/wind/hydro power, plant a tree, clean up your area, be creative with your garbage, plant a backyard organic garden, reuse domestic water to water your garden!
Think outside the box!

That is so true! Take the one step closer to the dream of your heart and soul and it makes you fly! This positive energy creates the greater changes and inspires all that are around!
Likewise, my friend, smile and the world smiles with you

Jeremy, so true... its the little things, the drips that become oceans, the drops that become floods. The small things we do daily defines who we are and where we stand.
I signed up for a class to become a neighborhood coordinator with the Friends of Trees... I want to inspire my block to become more treed... (treed... a new word? or is it treeed?)
Anyway... I've noticed that one small action, one small drip... can lead to a torrent of reaction. I'm hoping my block will become more oxygenated, neighborly, beautiful, and cleaner as a result of more trees and the efforts of the neighborhood in planting together.
They don't know it yet, but I'm already planning on having a huge block party to celebrate our good deed!

If we keep on treating the planet as a space invader would, we will soon have to vacate it as an unlivable place and go off into space hunting for somewhere new, BUT.....
God created this planet and gave us everything we need for a comfortable life, and He gave us beauty for all to see and reflect on, so it would seem to me that it is our duty to care for the planet with love in our hearts.
Some would say we live in a "dog eat dog" society and in some respects this is true, but we have the ability to make the necessary changes, if we but grow up and realise that greed never solved any problems, only makes things worse, That there is more than enough for all. We all have a duty to each other, to help our brother/sister to attain the comforts and needs of life.
If we learn to share, and share alike, northern and southern hemispheres, the earth and her people would be a happy place.
I live in what should be an idyllic place, a sundrenched island in the Caribbean, but we have overfished our waters to the stage where there are no fish left in our coastal waters, we keep on buying damaging expensive oil to power our transport and industry-what there is of industry left-, and the sun shines forever here, we are in the path of the southeast trade winds and we have abundant water supplies, we have no excuse, we should be powered by the sun, the wind and by hydro.
Well, I've taken my one small step, and I do hope that others here will look at what I do as an example and follow it, put up more renewable resources, etc. I had a chance to speak to our Prime Minister this morning and suggested that he put in place some kind of system making it compulsory that new house constructors install even enough solar generating capacity to run the lights of these houses, if nothing else, so as to cut down on oil usage, and I could go on, but I've said my piece.
