Declan Galbraith - Tell Me Why--A Children's Tribute

This version contains ADDITIONAL images of children at war or in war torn areas--where the original edit has too much blank-black spaces. These images are real and are/have been happening across the world.

it is at some level of compassionate pain that i find it difficult to approach the concept of perfection as defined or referenced by michael day in his entry of August 14th. perhaps i'm just not "zen" enough to release myself from what mr. day calls an "easy horror." when my gut is wrenched with needless sadness, i find nothing "easy" about that; i also thank the spirit inside me for disallowing any form of "familiarity" to provide a "comfortable" viewing point. i think that countless times throughout history such horrors as depicted in this piece DO INDEED give birth to movements of radical change; sometimes humankind has to be pushed into an escapeless corner by such atrocities before it can commit itself properly to the realization AND to the needed action or movement.

for myself, i was touched by the images of children who have barely been introduced to life being compelled to take up arms whose sole function it is to end life. that is a horror that will never come easy or perfect for me.

yes, we can accomplish much with our collective love and respect for one another. I will strive to put as much of my energy as possible toward any such positive end; at the same time, i will continue to ask "why?" i believe that it is through such questioning we can begin to deconstruct or disassemble the deterrents and obstacles to an existence of purer love and greater goodness.

Namaste Everyone, I deeply appreciate and honor all of your comments, critics, feeling, insights, and inputs on this video.

Yes, we've have all "seen that", "been there", and "done that"--but; just like the "right-wingers" use repetitiveness to dumb-us-down, de-sensitize us, lull us into acceptance and have us "stay-the-course" on their bandwagon--we must do the same to remind us at how horrific, ludicris, and insane their modality of thinking and action/inaction really is.

So it is our duty to raise--No--to sent forth a "voice" that will be picked up, passed on from all of us to say that, "It stops here with us; this generation will not pass the torch of hatred and indifference--it will end with us here this day!"

The reason I say this is because I've been around the world, thanks to Uncle Sam, for 20-plus years as a USAF Combat Photographer/Photojournalist. And I've seen the best of what mankind can do and things that gives one pause on how can a human perpetrate this on another human being. And even as a Shaman I found myself asking, "Why Creator, Why This?!?!!" And the "answer" was, "This is a shout in the wilderness, to those who have not listened or spoken out before!"

The answer is that we as brothers and sisters must throw away all of the trumped-up difference we have been aligned with and stand together as one--or die together as fools! Martin Luther King once said, "In the end we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends!"

I have always loved this song and...
I want the time to be now when we no longer ask why.

It's easy, familiar and socially acceptable to be upset/horrified by the injustices of this world.
But if we look at history, asking why and being upset about these things has never promoted truly radical change. It has never facilitated any kind of lasting transformation.

I have found that when human beings come together and do the hard work of clearing out old unresolved personal pain...the ability to see the horror in the world as perfect...the injustice as perfect...the destruction of this planet as perfect...the domination of millions of human beings as perfect becomes accessible again. So...let's bring an end to asking why because reasons for hell on earth are irrelevant! I want to ask instead if you can imagine what might happen if we learn to effectively support each other with working through our own personal reactions to the horror in this world until we can look right into the depth of the madness and it no longer shakes us, upsets us, or imbalances us.

If we discover how to serve humanity and the planet from a quiet, non-reactive, powerful place inside, we become literally an unstoppable vehicle for pure Love. Imagine what miracles could come from that?!

When we heal our personal pain, our service to the world is no longer based on trying to fix anything. Instead, it is solely based on the ecstasy of discovering together how far we really can take our potential in this extraordinary divine experiment called Earth.

Why - Is what will Motivates us all, and we shall not rest... we must never rest until these tragedies cease to exist.

My heart hurts after watching this. That is the question...WHY? Because we have to change our minds.
It's something I have to work at every day to find peace within my own heart and then radiate it out to the universe.

This is the most beautiful, most poignant and most truthful You Tube I have ever seen. It is heart-breaking to realize (again) that innocent children must suffer for the wrong words and actions of adults. My every thought and word must speak of Love, else I will be contributing to war. I just realized this. Thank you for opening my heart a little wider. Starr Beven
