DESCRIPTION:We have entered the Decisive Decade, a critical, bewilderi
 ng moment in which deeper conversations about “right action” are d
 esperately needed. Given the quickening pace of global change and our 
 mounting crises, all of us are going to have to step fully into our po
 wer and actively engage in shifting the catastrophic course that human
 ity is on. We need a transformation of consciousness and all of its en
 suing cultural and behavioral changes NOW.\n\nThat is why we are excit
 ed to invite you to join us for the 2010 Hollyhock Summer Gathering, a
 n annual invitational leadership conference imbued with a heartfelt se
 nse of community, spirit, and service. We believe that if we all do ou
 r part to shift humanity from an ego-centric to an eco-centric worldvi
 ew, we just might generate the collective wisdom and power needed to s
 ave the world. It's time to take a Warrior Stance - to think big, act 
 courageously, and come together in love and joy.\n\nThis Gathering wil
 l convene a diverse intergenerational group of creative leaders to exp
 lore ways to work together and support each other in creating a world 
 that works for all. We want you to be a part of this community convers
 ation. Over the years many enduring collaborations have been forged at
  the Summer Gathering -- new projects are created, others find support
  and funding, powerful ideas and creative sparks are shared... and a g
 reat time is had by all!\n\nSpecial Emphasis #1: Diversity. Last year 
 we achieved a significant increase in the number of participants under
  age 35. The intergenerational dynamic was powerful and magical for al
 l, and we want more! We are also seeking the participation of people f
 rom diverse cultures and backgrounds. We want to bring a global perspe
 ctive to our time together and welcome friends from other parts of the
  world.\n\nSpecial Emphasis #2: Transcendence of Polarities. The capac
 ity to more deeply understand and listen to one another is a crucial s
 kill for the Decisive Decade. Throughout the conference we will practi
 ce bridging the gap of polarity and bringing differing points of view 
 into the conversation. Please think of thoughtful people to invite who
  represent different perspectives on the political, cultural, spiritua
 l, and economic spectrums.\n\nLIMITED SPACE: At this point the number 
 of people who want to participate in the Gathering outnumbers the spac
 es available. This is a good thing, but it means that not everyone wil
 l get to be there every year. Here's a hint to assure a space this yea
