Marshmallow root can be added to herbal tea. It is loaded with silica and is soothing for skin and mucus membrane conditions like ulcers. It can also be used for sore throats to help a dry cough or to settle an upset stomach. It is said to mildly stimulate the immune system and help with inflammation.

Marshmallow acts as a soothing expectorant, loosening and encouraging the removal of phlegm.

I like to mix marshmallow root with chamomile, lemon balm and lemon grass. I then add hot water and steep for ten minutes.
