It is such a wonderful experience as we follow our breath back to ourselves by paying attention to it and accepting it as our divine human foundation. Consciouis deep breathing truly helps with anchoring our consciousness in our breath and trusting it as our real self. As we come to see that living is really conducting our lives one conscious deep breath at a time all of our anxieties will go .
There is o substitute for experience so try it for yourself and share the benefits with the rest of us.

Ciao Silja.

I'm not able to meditate . But my " meditation" is when i listen for good music, I play my guitar, I write poems...

My meditation is when I feel the love of the universe in some special moments of my life.

I'm glad for you and your meditation and for the friends that meditate.

Love and peace,

Massimo

Thank you, Candice, for sharing information about your teacher. The video, you suggested is really wonderful - I can feel what he says and there's not a word that I could disagree in it. Once we have found the source in ourselves, it is just to grow in it and to keep that feeling of the connection. But the knowledge comes from everywhere, if we're open to get it. It can come from a newborn baby, from every person, from every place. Then it is not the looking for it anymore, but it is rather to accept it when it comes and staying open and sharing it with others.
I've also learned from many books and by contacting through the meditative state. So (I) have many teachers, too, they're not just being around here in the body. It is impossible to say that (I) did this or that, but more just staying open.
Most of the benefit came from choosing to keep the same feeling that when we meditate all of the time.
And as the time has passed I've found that there is the truth in everywhere, it comes from all over. But our connection point is within ourselves, although we can choose to look at everything from the other points as well. That is when trying to help someone, who's in need of the help. But at first we should help the soul, rather than start changing from the outside. Even if giving the food to someone, we should give the love and understanding before it. The compassion and feeling pitiful for someone are not the one and the same.
Thank you so much.

Thank you, Marinspin, for sharing these great experiences that you've had! Feeling the humiliation comes when putting someone upon you or when acting by creating humility for others. In the deepness there's no difference, who has learned less or more, everyone has the freedom to make the own choices to develop further. Feeling the humiliation also comes from having too much pride or haughtiness. But there's a way from dealing the own feelings and facing them to learn more about the who we really are inside. Some of the reasons may lay back to childhood, if the parents have lowered us. Some of the reasons may be in not having the enough opportunity to give our true best in the work that we do. Many people have not found the way to express the talents and abilities in what they do. I've been dealing with these feelings for a long time, too. I've had the experiences from the childhood to work through for healing the soul and many more. Thank you so much.

Sungmin Steve Ko,
I'm really grateful for you to share this knowledge that you have. I've learned the most about the breath when I was learning and teaching the karate. That is when I started practice the meditation as the part of the daily life. Now it has became like natural way, how to breath. When meditating, it sometimes slows down so much that it feels no need for breathing for the seconds. Although the breathing is still deep and it is feels just incredible.
Thank you!

When I was a young ..Maybe 6 years old. I didn't know why I interested to meditation but I just enjoyed calm with closed my eyes.
And I went to meditation school when I was 12 years old. The master taught me that how to breath. Korean called breath at DAN JEON (Chiness character is 丹田). This meaning is RED FIELD and this lies on below the navel in the body.
First,,inhale slowly during 5 seconds and exhale slowly during 5 seconds, this way is a inital step of breath.

My most intense meditation experience and here is the short version which is very unlike a Gemini to not get into a major ramble but I will try...

I was taking classes at a yoga school and some how was invited to a going away party for my yoga teacher who was going to the East Coast to be a head monk in a Japanese monastery. I was suppose to go there that summer to be in charge of the vegetable garden. I had no clue what really went on there being rather naive but gardening for a few months sounded good to me.

I drank some Champagne at his party and I am not much of a drinker so I went home with a headache and tried to take a nap. As soon as I laid down the phone rang and it was his buddy who wanted to know if I wanted to go to the monastery with a group of people that same week. He said we need to know right now so we can purchase your plane ticket tomorrow.

Still feeling a bit tipsy I said yes without giving it much thought. A few days later we were on the airporter heading to the airport at some strange hour like 5:00 a.m. and they told me we would be meditating 10 or 14 hours a day for 7 days and we would be going into silence and we would not be allowed to shower. I thought they were joking but they weren't.

We arrived in NY. I called a step sister that lived there who was horrified and thought I had been kidnapped. She had just had a death in her husband's family (actually a murder that she did not tell me about) and she could not deal with my call or story but was worried.

My yoga teacher and his pal took us to a wonderful dinner in the Village and then we slept in some monastery in NY City in sleeping bags on floor mats in one big room. The next day we left for the monastery in up state NY. It seemed like it was miles from anything. It was beautiful there and on a lake and was very peaceful and quiet.

We did end up meditating 10 to 14 hours a day. We were there for over a week. We had to wear cheesy brown polyester robes. Some how I ended up with a ratty looking one and was forced to be the last person in line every time we left or entered a room. It was a giant lesson in humility.

I would stare out the window at the deer eating in the snow. They caught on I was looking out the window so I was moved to a wall which I had to face all day and much of the night when I was not busy doing my job which was scrubbing floors on my hands and knees. We were not suppose to move while meditating. I basically hated the whole experience at first and asked my roommate if she would call her friend Roger who lived in NY to come get us. She said that was not an option because he was friends with our yoga teacher. I was super bummed out and kept wondering how the heck I was going to get out of there because it was snowing out and we were miles from anywhere.

After two and a half days we were walking in a circle chanting one night and I suddenly became very high and felt like all humans were one. I embodied that thought some how. When we went down stairs for a 5 minute bathroom break (I normally spent my breaks eating stashed chocolate bars and gabbing illegally) I said to my friend Anne "Are you feeling sort of high?" and she said "Look at my eyes". I did. They were super dilated. She said "I feel like I took eight hits if LSD". I said I do too. I was glad it was just not me going crazy on my own. I would have private sessions with the head Roshi and I would complain about feeling too high. I would wake up at night and be semi hallucinating and would just say to myself you are high go back to sleep. This went on for awhile even after I left the monastery to come home when were back in NY City.

I never would have gone to NY if I knew in advance I would be meditating so many hours but it was an unbelievable experience and I am glad I went. My teacher said later he knew I would have never gone if I knew what we would be doing there so he purposely did not tell me. When he tried to get me to move there later I did not hesitate to say no. I am still glad I went that one time. It was an incredible experience and seemed like it was straight out of a past life.

Nice topic, thanks. I have been practicing the same techniques for over half my life and I'm always amazed at the effect it has on every aspect of my life.

If interested, my teacher talks a bit here about what he offers:

Hello, everyone! I wanted to create this group, because I feel it is needed to share this kind of experiences with each other. Me personally I have basically self-studied it through the years.
One of the greatest and most powerful ways to meditate is when many people are doing it at the same time, no matter where the people are. I've experienced the how incredible the results are for doing this. It works as the powerful manifestation and also helps to arise the individual abilities to reach for more.
