I love the photo of your cats in a tree. I am an artist in Atlanta, Georgia, USA and plan to enter an art competition soon that benefits Trees Atlanta. Atlanta is a very lucky city to have as many trees as we have. Unfortunately, last year a tornado hit the city and we have also been in a drought for several years. Consequently, our trees are suffering. Anyway, I am asking permission to use your photo as inspiration for a painting to enter in this competition. Proceeds from the entry fee and any sale of the painting go to benefit our local organization that takes care of public trees - Trees Atlanta. Of course I will credit you and your photo as inspiration if I am accepted into the competition. Kind of cool the way the web has opened up the world for sharing and learning and communing.
Thank you so much. Of course I will share my finished painting. I would also love to see your other photos. The one you used for your icon has such an innocent pure quality to it. I love the cats, and you're right, Hanibal is huge for 9 months. Can you tell me how to pronounce Pimmetje? (my southern english pronounces it Pem-met-ge) I have three dogs myself. I've been to the Netherlands twice, once when I was 16 and then when I was 27 as an art student on a studies abroad program. I took many years off from painting to raise my children and am beginning again. It amazes me everyday how the world of communication has changed in those 20 years. It makes so much more possible - I can't wait to see where this website is going.
Claudia, Your photographs are absolutely beautiful. I'm glad you added them to this site. Everyone needs to be able to appreciate them. Do you know if we can share e-mail addresses without posting them publicly? I am very new to blogging - this is my first adventure. I played around with a watercolor of Hannibal in the tree - more of a closeup - yesterday but never got it right. Some days are like that, and I am going to try again. I feel like I am in a state of flux and change right now and my art is changing. That's one reason I couldn't get it right. I'd go in one direction and then see a new way to go and venture off that way. Not very productive, but I actually enjoy the zigzags. Never know what you'll discover. I haven't painted my dogs. I recently get a one year old beagle from my Mom. She got it last summer, but with Winter and colder weather she couldn't walk it now (my parents are 85 and mostly in very good health). My other two dogs are 10 and grouchy. I do plan to paint them soon. At some point I am going to do a series on them and their personalities. Now I work part time as a Massage Therapist and paint part time. I am very involved with a local art co-op gallery and that also takes a lot of my time. What fills your time? Sounds like you have a beautiful garden. I grew up on a farm, but I didn't get the green thumb.
Keep taking those beautiful shots of light and life - Beverly
Hi Claudia - Thank you for your comment on the Hopi. Yes, the indigenous people see a bigger reality where "all our relations" are interconnected. Thank you for sharing your beautiful photographs! Blessings to you.
Hi Claudia -
Thank you for taking the time to send me your note. It's always a great thing to discover other people who care deeply about Mother Earth and her Beings. To hyperlink, just get the URL and then highlight the word that you want to link from. When you have the word highlighted, click on the link icon in the text box banner (to the left of the photo icon) and then paste in the URL. That should do it for you!
It could be that maybe one letter was wrong in the URL. If it's not pasted in exactly it won't link.
Claudia, thank you so much for your heartfelt comment about my voice. :) I'm just overwhelmed with gratitude these past few days and your note has bumped it up even more.
Ciao Claudia.
I'm not a professional musician but a business man.
Music is my passion .form 35 years and I love to play guitar.
I'll look for some music and I'll put it on my page.
Your photos are beautiful.
Thanks. My icon picture is the painting of the Van Halen album, "Balance." That is the name of the painting as well. I have recently in the last year gotten into Miles Davis. But I'm into everything from Norwegian Death Metal, to Santana, to Miles and Co., to Blues, Funk, Rap, etc.
For years I have lived the life I wanted to live; AOAND is very precious to me as it is becoming a new way of life.
The music and above all the vision Carlos Santana gave me, simply made me a happier human being. Everyday I create my own masterpiece of joy. No matter what happens!
My grandmother, boy, she made a difference to me. I sadly miss her. Coming from Germany during the interbellum, she became our family centre. She helped me and my family a lot by being wise, unconditional in her love for ALL people, and above all a radiant Angel of Light. I miss her. Her maiden name of birth is my artist name as well; Voshege. Which is German slang for 'foxhole'.
Without sounding too new aging (ha..;-) she and I talk. And it feels really good.
AoanD has changed my daily life for a long time, never knew it felt so powerful.
Some time ago, I wrote and create this downtempo piece 'Eyes Wide Open' - it is on my artist page at www.myspace.com/voshege. Creating soundscapes is very soothing to me. Hopefully it will stick to people's minds.
Hi Claudia,
Just found your comment on the photo of me & my (wonderful) dog--- thank you!
What I think is charming (about it), is that you can tell we are looking at the same thing! (probably a jack rabbit, or a bunny!)
Happy Obama Tuesday! (we are very excited, here)
