Ciao Nike. In Italy we have Berlusconi that is a friend of George W. Bush, but Italian people and I are very very very happy for your new president.
Obama is the future, the new Dawn for the Usa and for the world too.
His eyes have the light of equity . His way of doing and talking are the mirror of the new generation of American people, where there are not differences of skin, social or money.
Ciao Massimo--
Yes, yes, I (very much), agree
This is such a good thing (we are so proud America has done this!) (finally, something really good!)
Celebrate!
Ciao Ciao, Nike
Hello again,
I like your photos! What is funny, is, you look younger in the more recent picture! (get it? you're aging in reverse! very clever! smile) But put the older picture back, that was nice, too! Ciao~ Nike
Hello again!
Thank you, very well, and watching everything on TV about Obama--- it's hard to leave it, even for a moment! (every station is doing around-the-clock-coverage; we are very excited! Like a coronation!!!
All kinds of music, right now a lot of Django Reinhart, always blues, jazz.... everything that's good! What is yours? I play Scott Joplin on the piano (as I said, many kinds!) Ciao ciao, back later, Nike
Oh, man, don't worry about the "mistakes," brother. I'm from the deep south, in Mississippi. So I'm sure I'll pop off with some slang every now and again, and mispell words. I don't hardly pay attention. I am not computer savyy either. But yes, Either the PRS Santana or maybe a Mira. Have you seen their new amps? They have a Victorian Fabric all over the sides! Beautiful!!! I love Victorian age furniture, and the patterns, clothing, etc. Very Old Gothic. Here's a picture of one of the amps.
A few years ago, I used to have a yoga-friend called Massimo, he came from Rome. Such a very sweet en gentle person. It must be in the name :-)
Thank you for your kind compliment.
When I see all you guys with those beautiful guitars looking and surely being (semi) professionals, I feel shy to tell that I have played guitar in a band as well. We used to play covers of Lenny Kravitz, Paul Weller, U2, The Cure, Red Hot Chili Peppers, ect. It only didn't last long. We split up after three years and I stopped playing the guitar. Haven't touched a guitar ever since....!
Followed some lessons in playing djembé and didgeridoo. But nothing compares to playing in a band.
Can't wait to hear some of your songs. What kind of music do you play?
Cool being a businessman (in a grey suit?) playing the guitar ;-)
No I don't have a guitar shop near by that carries the amp. Oh yeah, I love acoustic playing. I have that one and an acoustic electric. the Acoustic electric is a good one, because It's unique looking, and I can get acoustic piezo sounds, or a deep hollowbody sound out of it. Sorry to keep posting picks, but here's the Acoustic/Electric. It's an Ibanez Talman. His name is Choc-Talman. But other than that I have a Roland Cube 30 amp, a BR1200CD recorder, and a vintage Trumpet, from about 1974. I would love to go to Italy. That is one of my favorite cultures, besides the Asian's.
I play mainly rock/jazz/blues... I play whatever strikes me for the moment. I would like to have a band that was into actually into playing, but everytime I go to play with anyone, maybe I'm too picky, but all they want to do is smoke pot, drink beer, and party. I did all that for a long time, and I guess now that I don't I've become a little more dscerning and a little judgemental. I'm there to play music, not party! But I fingerpick blues. One of my favorite things to do is to have a piece start out fast, with 16 notes per frame or more, and then slow to a 4 or 8 note time signature. I'm not real technical, but I do have my moments. I think that music theory is fun to a certain extent, but a lot of musicians miss the point sometimes. Just play the guitar, and whatever comes out will be from the heart, at least that's what I play. If I can feel the music, I play along with it. I have recently written a Joe Satriani type song, without the tremolo bar. I like making the vibrato with my fretting hand. I also have written a song for my wife, kind of jazz meets Santana, a little, called "Lady Gypsy." right now I'm working on a piece with my acoustic/electric, and it will be a different piece, with a lead in the background of the main guitar, and vocals, probably some trumpet. We'll see. One day I'll have to post some of my tunes, and let you hear them. It probably won't be for a while, because my computer at home is about 14 years old, so I don't ever get on it. I actually need a new computer, but I'm waiting on the times, to see what's going to happen with the economy, right now.
Dear Massimo,
Know it's late in Italy, but hope you could see some of the TV coverage of the excitement here --- even the night before! (this is better then any New Year's Eve!)
Yes, your jazz list is spot-on; Oscar P. is also one of my very favourites! He was a very special person, as well (he wrote an auto-biography, have you read it?), and it makes his music even more special to me-
I meant to say, your guitars are an art collection, beautiful
Nice pictures, too
Ciao Ciao! Nike
Nice pictures you've added. I love your photo and the ones of Mother Theresa and the angel.
Is the photo of the landscape a photo of where you live? How beautiful.
And nice amps :-) Must sound great!
You know, I've never listened to Matheny, but now I will go and look into him. I did not know that he was from Mississippi either. Cool. I will check him out. Have you ever listened to Eric Johnson "Venus Isle"? Beautiful guitar work on that one. Check that one out. He plays so smooth with his pick that you actually can't hear his pick noise, most of the time!
Dear Massimo,
Oh, that is wonderful, to hear!!! Indeed, the centre of the world (at least, certainly today)
It's just the best thing, that the entire world is celebrating together (we're so proud to have done something this good, finally! smile)
This is a champagne day and night! Cheers! Nike
Well, I for one am a bit skeptical, but I hope that Obama is the man we have been looking for. What are your thoughts as an Italian, looking in from there? Just wondering. I think that we could have used a woman president for once, not Palin, but a woman nonetheless.
I hope that you're right. I don't really trust him yet. I would have rather anyone than Bush, though, so I hope that he's the right one for the job, is all.
What's happenin' brotha from another motha? Just online wondering what's circling the drain today. Nice picture of Miles, man. I am writing a piece that I have to brush up on my trumpet for, ath the moment. Here's a pic of my trumpet. It has a copper bell end. Pretty neat. My brother inlaw gave it to me, because it had been sitting collecting dust in his garage, and he said, "Hey, if you will fix it up, you can have it man." I did, it cost about $80 dollars, and there you go. It sounds a bit warmer than most trumpets. I don't know why, maybe there's still some spiders crawling around up in there, LOL!!!
Ciao dear Massimo,
sorry I am in a hurry those days: I didn't see your comment yesterday. Thanks a lot. I am doing well little bit stress because I should leave for Switzerland next Sunday an dI have to prepare many things.
How are you doing? As I look at your picture it gives me such a joy and sunny mood - everything gets easier. Thank you for that.
We don't have real Winter this year, now is about 10 Degrees C, what is very high here. Nice for my Garden.
I like the network idea very much. I found this one through Carlos Santana web page . We need such communication because it gives us power to manage the life, don't you think?
When you have time, you could write me more about you and what are you doing.
Have a great , lovely time,
Ciao, Massimo

Thank you for your sweet compliment.
Do you meditate?
I used to do Kriya Yoga, a lot of asana's and many hours of meditation a day!
I don't do that anymore. But I need and I want to start meditating again.
I feel like It's been a while since we had contact...... AOAND is like one big family for me already. If I dont hear from you or get any messages, I miss you!!! I did :-)
