What a great idea! And thx for following me on Twitter, too :-)
I know a Sebastopol Nan (don't know her last name) who's a quintessential Earth Mama, sells jams @ Farmer's Mkt, and is mom to my friend in CO's niece's husband (a little convoluted, but if that's the same person, it's 6 degrees again, eh?). Does this sound like her?
Blessings,
Amara
What, you're not reading my Tweets?? (Just kidding). I'm back in the blissful North Bay, and my current assignment is finding a serene semi-rural location/piece of land with access to electric and a possible bathroom on which to park my camper van. And manifesting someone to drive my Toyota back from El Paso. Or whatever Spirit has in mind in this regard.

Hi, And thanks for the comments.
As to the panels, no, I did'nt make them, I checked around and bought 180 Watt Evergreen panels as being the best buy, and I use the 6 v batteries because they are deep cycle batteries, can be more or less totally discharged and recharged, and have a usable life of over 25 years if properly maintained, whereas the 12 v car batteries will only give you a couple of years and cannot handle the deep discharge.
I wanted a system which would give me more than enough power to operate my house and hobbies, business, etc., come what may, and have a 5.5KW gas generator as a hardly used backup.
If I had a free running stream nearby, believe me, I'd have incorporated a small hydro electric generator as well.
Good luck with your endeavours,
regards, jeremy
Hi Doobius!
CR looks amazingly edenlike! Happy to support your vision with sending like minded folks your way. Do we know each other in waking state? You look familiar but I can't place the connection.
Wish you well,
