Hardly ever Leslie as am unsure of the driving conditions, do drive but usually local. Guess that is something that happens when one gets older, don't know. Communication is still a very high priority with me and that is why I really like the internet, lets us communicate with our friends far and near, blessings to you and keep up the great works. Love JackieO

    Hi, LeslieAnn,
Well, can't really remember how my day was on the seventh. Have been unable to socialize for a while because I had too much on my plate.
Today I am okay and on this first day of spring enjoyed the bright sunshine. Now, after ten in the evening, the temperature has dropped close to zero. I am still tempted to do some star gazing, since there are no clouds that hide them now.
    Greetings from the Low Lands,
    Marielle
  • Imtiaz Mather

Ok, I've re-posted, hope you get it. Peace and Blessings.

    The Hope of Loving

What keeps us alive, what allows us to endure?

I think it is the hope of loving,
    or being loved.

I heard a fable once about the sun going on a journey
to find its source, and how the moon wept
    without her lover’s
    warm gaze.

We weep when light does not reach our hearts. We wither
    like fields if someone close
    does not rain their
    kindness
    upon
    us.

From “Love Poems From God” by Daniel Ladinsky.

All is well here in Magnolia, hope you are doing well also.
Your paintings are wonderful, very colorful. After reading the captions, I was able to get new meanings from them, such depth.

    Hi Leslie Ann,

Pilot...nope. I do project/construction management of airports, mass transit, etc. Since engineering/construction is at a low here in the San Francisco area, I've been pretending and doing a wannabe rock star...or re-living my happy musical past.

LeslieAnn, please forgive the delay in responding. With many works in progress, I haven't begun to work on this site until today.
Things are well (only the attitude can keep one from having a mental, emotional or spiritual wellness). I hope all is well with you!
There will be more on-site later this evening.
You are certainly (in reference to Star's notation) a bright light. May it forever shine ebulliently and warmly within your soul as well as toward those who seek that brilliance.

Again, thanks so much for writing. Hope to hear from you soon.
    Cheers,
    Chuck

    Hi LeslieAnn,
You left a kind note to me back in March & I simply want you to know it's not been from rudeness that I've not responded-
I only 'found' my page today!
This is, indeed, a lovely & uplifting place to come and share & I look forward to doing so.
Any thoughts of how to begin?
    Thank you for any ideas...

    Hello Leslie,

I enjoy visiting your blog. The paintings are elegantly satirical. Reminds me of klimt and Schiele.
    How are you.

Very well, LeslieAnn. And you? It's warm here on San Juan Island, but the dogs and I are are keeping cool using fans.
  • Ron Tocknell

Well, I guess so. As the language of images is universal, I suppose translation isn't that important... well, except for Magritt. When I saw his painting of a pipe, I didn't get it. When I found out it was called "This is not a pipe", THEN I got it.

I'd suggest that perhaps you were a French impressionist in a past life... except that you're being one in THIS life :o)
  • Ron Tocknell

Gloucestershire is a loooooooooooooooong way from Portland. It's in the UK across yonder pond.

Yes. I would indeed love to see your paintings in the... er..... well, paint. Reproductions never do paintings justice because they're not two dimensional. I can never look at an oil painting with just my eyes; that only tells part of the story, doesn't it?

I'll just have to wait until you exhibit over here. London is far more do-able.
  • Jane Anne Jeffries

Wow! 112 degrees! Where are you?

My dogs are a Golden Retriever and an American Eskimo Husky. Our heatwave broke yesterday. It was a great relief. It has been no more than 70 degrees today.
  • Ron Tocknell

London? Yes I love it too in bite-sized portions. After about five days, I'm at screaming pitch. I'm just not acclimatised to city life.

Hi Leslie Ann Iam very new to AOAND - came upon your work which i find very interesting. I work with average of 10 -15 artists evry day here in Central Australia at present.
Have a great week - Peace and Happiness

Thanks Leslie - I supply artworks to galleries in Sydney. Some paintings are collectible works and affordable, decorative so on... There are about 800+ practicing artists in Central Australian Region. Art works are very different and few believe it is Unique. You probably have herd about Aboriginal art. here are some examples of it http://www.anurakulatunga.com/anura/content/affordablepaintings_utopia.aspx(main web site under construction) - the most promoted works come from western Australia border region. This part of the country is still very remote and pristine. I sometimes travel with the artists and listen to their stories handed down from their kin - (Dreamings or Dream time as the stories commonly reffered to) it is an experience I enjoy very much Leslie.

    Hello LeslieAnn
My appologies for the delay in writing...if I may take you back to my first visit to your page and comment on your paintings as to why i like them - as I could't fully answer (during over half a dozen crashes of the browser and computer ) and contify my comment, - your paintings carry with it your personal encounters, changes in ones, life process most of us been through - and seen through your artworks. In contrast with my work with artists, they are now going through the same changes in their lives, which is not known to them as they transend through a life process from the past where no words and actions that could discribe Greed, Lies, Deception, Meterialism engulfed their environment util a few years ago. A tru culture shock is now in progress and all the changes are beneath a term ' Intervention' (actually it is intrusion) by the government'.
Artworks of artists working with me are different in a sence it is reflective of a songline, a practice, a process that goes all the way back and beyond decades of time; artworks resembling symplicity for complicated situations which your artworks, in contrast, portray environments of complications, contradictions barriers, time frames of responsive gestures etc. Presently, artists I work with face such situations, where as the artworks itself, would remain unchanged, as time progress. My personal experiences are now largely determined by intervening in such environments. Music gets me out of it most of the time.

Well it is so true that 'Life was not Meant to be easy' as the saying goes.

    Have a good day

Thanks for your Note, Sorry it took so long to to respond but I just read it for the first time. I am working on an radio event with the Save The Earth Foundation for 2010. http://www.savetheearth.org

Hi you left a comment on my page waaaay back in march, sorry I just dont get here very often! You asked, what the story was behind the pic of the skeletons. Well, the story behind the skeletons on my page, I don't have many details . I know it was a couple found at an archeological site. Other than that I don't recall the history of it. when I saw it , it struck me on many levels of the layered depth of human relations. showing a sort of immortal foundation of connection. Thank you for asking and I apologize it has taken nearly a year to repsond !!!

Hi LeslieAnn...I'm so happy your guidance led you to my profile. Sorry I haven't answered sooner as i don't explore this site enough. I took time to view your website and must say I'm in LOVE with your essence and your work! I love all of your figurative and abstract paintings. Your figures are simply stunning, elegant, interesting, mystical, playful. They encompass many layers of emotions and interest while telling a story. Your abstracts are so rich with texture and color. Simply beautiful. I wish you lived near me as I'd love to get to know you. I had a website and the host disappeared one day. Voila! No website. I'm in process of having a friend build another one with my jewelry. I've been working in Art Clay and enjoy it immensely. I also paint and enjoy watercolor with mixed media the most. I work in acrylic and also create ceramic masks that I paint and ad fabric and mixed media to each one. They're all one of a kind. I have also been a healing facilitator for the past 17 years and give readings via the Akashic Records. One of my favorites are the "fairies" I channel for clients by connecting with their heart and drawing the imagery, colors and archetype symbols I receive. Would love to keep in touch. Hope you're doing well and enjoying being in the present moment. God Bless You LeslieAnn. Keep creating your amazing paintings!

That is so nice! How could I be anything but excellent when a stranger cares enough to ask about me.

    Love to you.
