I live in Troutdale temporarily, but have lived on Mt. Tabor for most of the 20 years I've been in Portland. I miss my mountain. I have most enjoyed the discussions, debates and dreams shared on AOAND. ...glad I joined.
Design and illustration are my forte. ...also, social work, though my primary occupation has been motherhood and now grandmotherhood.
Ahh-h-h, the Art Bar at The PCPA... I bow before your artistic elegance. Metta, Jeanne
In response to your question... most of my professional design work is proprietary, mostly dry and uninspiring, though this past year I can proudly say I've been involved in a couple green projects that were pretty exciting; I was part of a large team working on a living machine that processes all the sewage and aqueous waste at an international airport and the other, a chem engineer and I conceptualized a solar reactor design used to create silicone for the solar industry. I have been taking sculpture classes the last few years, trying to find my artistic niche. I like doing functional, subtractive, salvage art and beating on metal ... and I'm a self-taught whittler... its therapeutic. Metta, Jeanne
Hello Lawrence:
The mountain background is the Moon Temple where I did ceremony. It's name is Wyna Picchu the peak SE, adjacant to Machu Picchu. It is an awesome place, you get a 360 degree view from atop Wayna Picchu. I will be back there in June. I've been traveling to Picchu and other aread of Peru since 1993. I take groups there.
Namaste,
Maria
