Hello Dear Tobias
I had a venue ("Sangha") on the East Coast that featured Avant-Garde Music produced in partnership with Transparent Productions who brought musicians into a network of venues from their respective spots in the world, all continents. As you know this music is spontaneous and feeds and grows on the energy of the moment and life experience of the musicians..so one often felt the ocean waves combined with flourishes of flamenco or monotone drones of Tibetan prayers. Sometimes a flute would become the sound of a drum and a guitar, a saxophone.. and the two would tell sad stories of human anguish, then burst into cries and finish with lullabies......If you are looking for places in the Washington Area I can introduce your work to the Smithsonian Institution. The stage there handled much larger audiences, of course, than my small place. Your audience here would be approx 2,000....Another idea would be the Washington Capitol Mall area....where just recently a crowd of 1.2 million came out for the humorous "Restore Sanity" event....You can see that people need Art to melt away the illusory political disruptions to PEACE...As a current resident of this area, I am always ready to plan a great Peace Event here in DC.....
September 8th through the 11th will be the First Annual Clear Creek Festival for Peace and Freedom, a few miles southeast of Winslow Arizona. Four days of music, food, and art celebrating and bolstering peace and freedom for our planet.
