Being able to afford an event in the current economic climate can be an incredible strain. At The RockPile Amphitheatre there are options that make life and enjoyment affordable. Across the road you’ll find a place to camp at a nominal cost. Though the campground is not completed, much has been done, and it will be hospitable. Water is available, and we plan to have solar showers up by festival time. Porta-Potties will be in place and cleaned on a regular schedule. Landscaping has not been done so bring a tarp for shade.

For those who can’t afford the price of a place to stay it’s simple. This is rural Northeastern Arizona you can find a place to camp for free just by looking. We have wide-open spaces, and cute little nooks waiting for a tent or sleeping bag. I personally prefer the stars at night, unless rain is in the forecast. Just remember that someone is going to have to clean up the mess, so keep a tidy camp, and show some respect for the ecology of our area. Desert plants have shallow root systems that can be damaged by off-road vehicles. Please mind your manners. If you want to see something stay on roads or take a little hike.

The two small towns in the area, Winslow and Holbrook, have limited infrastructure for the masses. Hotels, and motels are a short list. Winslow is a couple of miles away from The RockPile, and Holbrook is only 30 miles out. After these are filled people need to go to Flagstaff. There are plenty of rooms available there. Just remember it’s a 60-mile ride to get there. We’re used to it. Living rural in Arizona means your neighbors are as much a 200 miles away. It’s no big deal.

The big plus about camping is not the savings. It’s where you are and what you get to see. Chevelon Canyon out Territorial Road, Clear Creek Canyon, Sitgreaves National Forest 40-miles out, and that’s just the beginning. If you want to know where there is something worth seeing just ask. Someone will be glad to show you. We want you to enjoy our home.

Winslow, Arizona

Friday, September 2nd – Sunday, September 11th

Just a few miles outside of Winslow Arizona sits scenic Clear Creek, McHood Reservoir Park, and "The RockPile Amphitheatre". On September 2nd through the 11th a most unique event will take place, the Clear Creek Festival for Peace and Freedom. What began as a 4-day festival has grown into a 10-day historic event. Gateway to the reservation lands, Winslow, has opened a door for a multi-cultural festival that includes the small towns of the area and the Hopi, and Dine’ (Navajo) Tribes.

Musicians and artists from all over the country are on board for this project. The event will be broadcast on Peace Day TV, the United Nations International Day of Peace Global Broadcast. The events will engage numerous collaborators and partners from around country, to reach a combined audience base of 200 million viewers.

The Hopi are creating a powerful presence for this festival. Renowned Hopi artist, Anthony Honahnie is working on the festival poster and the t-shirt design. The local dance group will be dancing, not only at the opening ceremony, but daily. Opening day will include the blessing from a Hopi Tuhikya, or Medicine Person and musicians from the mesas will be coming to play.

From the Dine’, or Navajo, likewise, we are receiving an incredible influx. Bands and artists are coming to share their talents with the world. A Medicine Man will be coming in to add their blessings to the event, at the opening ceremony.

The art of Northeastern Arizona will be well represented during the festival and some inspiring and truly unique art and jewelry will be on display and available for purchase. Here in the high country there is probably more world-class art per capita than anywhere else on the planet.

The RockPile Amphitheatre & Promotions, along with the Clear Creek Association for the Arts, Inc. (a not for profit) are working together to bring this event to the world. It promises to be an unparalleled event of music, art and peace. For all interested parties contact information is (928) 386-2372, The RockPile Amphitheater, P.O. Box 640, Winslow, AZ 86047, or email us at doug@rockpileamphitheater.com or visit our website http://rockpileamphitheater.com/index.html for ticket sales. We welcome your participation.
An Event to Remember...tag:architectsofanewdawn.ning.com,2011-03-01:2227378:BlogPost:2475082011-03-01T23:29:30.000ZDouglas Kilburghttps://architectsofanewdawn.ning.com/profile/DouglasKilburg

The RockPile Amphitheatre is located on State Road 99 and Clear Creek, just a few miles southeast of Winslow, Arizona. Our goal is to work with the Clear Creek Association for the Arts, Inc. (a not for profit organization) to create an inclusive center for the arts. Here not only will we be able to offer entertainment via the performing arts, but show the art of our region to the world. The artists will reach out to educate the next generation of artists. Eventually, we hope to be a benefit to the region, offering our services to create a tourism base that will drive the economy.

What we are endeavoring to do will take community involvement at all levels to guarantee success. Lend a hand, and build a future for our area. 50% of the net profit will go directly into the surrounding community to enhance the quality of life of those in need, and sponsor the arts.

In 2010 we grew to an additional 1,000 plus organizational websites, increased multiple channels of live feed capabilities, and merged viewers with participants into a dynamic electronic environmental social network. We will be bringing attention of your festival, sponsors, and participants to this audience. In 2011, new collaborators joining efforts to embed the broadcast video player on their websites which will allow us to reach a combined audience base of 200 million globally.

Following your festival we will be carrying the WE Foundation 11 days of Global Unity events, live specials from the United Nations, Millennium Campaign, and Peace Concerts from multiple countries. September 21st, the International Day of Peace, will culminate the month with the airing of the 3rd annual PEACE DAY GLOBAL BROADCAST.
