Just reading the type of music that has influenced you, it seem as if I could have written the same lines myself.

I just recently discovered a great group (unfortunately the daily chores take a lot of our time) called Gov't Mule and I am now doing some catching up with their music.

Derek Trucks is really awesome, as is Warren Haynes. I've watched Derek on DVDs at home perform on Eric Claptons Crossroads Guitar Festivals and he is really something. I really hope I can see them perform live in the near future. Have a nice weekend and peace to you.

I was living in the east village in the summer of 69 ... just before expatriating. I have often thanked the stars that I said no to an invite from a friend to drive upstate to a big freebie festival that August. They got stuck in the traffic, the car broke down, and they never got close to Woodstock. Liked the movie, though.

I always joke about that episode - I was actually leaving the country on the 21st of August and I'm glad I did - it changed my life to get away from what had been a psychotic-frenetic-artistic life on the social, cultural and political fringes of American society ... Six months later, freezing my burls off in the deep of winter on the Spanish coast, we started hearing accounts of Woodstock from people who had been there. Yeah, I would have fit in, no doubt about that. I would probably have ended up at the hog farm's kitchen - I'm an adept cook. The music from Woodstock lives on, and even we who weren't there can appreciate it.
