Conversation and Community: Building Deeper Social Ties, a Free Workshop Sponsored by Transition Palo Alto and World Centric

Social ties are central to health, happiness, and civic life. Yet our frantic, distracted culture makes it difficult to maintain and deepen social connections. Trust and civil discourse are in decline.

Building social ties is crucial if we want to save the planet and transform our society from “every man for himself” to “we’re all in this together.”

In this workshop, learn the basics of good conversation skills as well as how to build community. (There will be a follow up group for those interested.)

The facilitator is Cecile Andrews, author of Less is More, Slow is Beautiful, and Circle of Simplicity. She has her doctorate in education from Stanford where she teaches in the Stanford Health Improvement Program. She is on the board for Take Back Your Time, is active in Transition Palo Alto and Seattle’s Gross National Happiness Project. http://www.cecileandrews.com
