From Cyberspace to Heartspace in Nothing Flat

Last night I had dinner with Jesus Gonzalez, an Architect from Chicago who had read my AoAND blog posts, friended me, then realized he was coming out to Napa/Sonoma on an annual wine country visit, and this is where I live! He wrote excitedly, would I like to join him and a friend for dinner?

His buddy, a relative cyber newbie, was amazed (1) that we'd connected this way, and (2) that I would agree to meet someone I'd only just gotten to know via email. It was the perfect opening for a spirited discussion about the Internet, how friendships can take shape virtually and then transcend the virtual to the actual, what social networks are ~ and why AoAND is different.

This site presents incredible possibilities/opportunities. Thanks again to Carlos, Jerry J and the others who had the vision and commitment to manifest it for us all.
