PepsiCo and Feeding America Team Up for a Third Straight Year to Fight Hunger

On October 4, more than 1,500 PepsiCo employees across the country participated for the third consecutive year in PepsiCo Feeds America, the company’s annual national day of service to support Feeding America. PepsiCo employeesvolunteered at 39 food banks in the Feeding America network throughout the day to help provide food for households in need.

“For many of our food banks, volunteers outnumber paid staff and help to make sure that we are able to provide the essential food to those in need in our communities,” said Matt Knott, interim President and CEO of Feeding America, the nation's leading anti-hunger organization. “We are grateful to PepsiCo for not only being a generous donor to our organization but also for fostering a sense of corporate citizenship throughout their company. Their employees have given their time and skills to help the more than 50 million Americans struggling to put food on the table.”

“Feeding America is a terrific organization doing incredibly important work in our communities,” said Pamela Culpepper, Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer, PepsiCo. “PepsiCo employees have a strong desire to give back to their communities, and this day of service is a great way to harness this spirit to help those in need.”

PepsiCo volunteers will load boxes, backpacks and pallets of food at the food banks, as well as prepare care packages to help feed thousands of individuals and families. In addition, the company will donate various food and beverage products to Feeding America, including Quaker Oats, Lipton iced tea, Propel Zero, and Frito-Lay snacks.

In the first two years of PepsiCo Feeds America, organized by Mosaic, PepsiCo’s African-American employee resource group, PepsiCo employees helped prepare more than 1.8 million meals for distribution at local food banks.

PepsiCo has a longstanding relationship with Feeding America. In addition to volunteer hours, the company has contributed $1 million to the organization to support hunger relief.
