PepsiCo teamed up with Feed the Children and Tops Friendly Markets to provide 800 families in Buffalo, New York with four truckloads of food and essentials early this November. PepsiCo employees working in the Buffalo area also volunteered their time on the day to help make it a success. This effort is part of Feed the Children’s Americans Feeding Americans Caravan program which has helped more than 300,000 families across the United States since its launch in 2009.
PepsiCo, Feed the Children and retailer Tops Friendly Markets this week partnered to deliver four semi tractor-trailers full of food and essentials to help 800 families in Buffalo, N.Y. A longtime supporter of Feed The Children, PepsiCo donated products and Buffalo-area employees volunteered their time to help distribute boxes of food and products to families.
Each family received a 25-pound box of food with PepsiCo products including a Frito-Lay multipack, Quaker Oatmeal and Aquafina water, along with produce and corn muffin mix from Tops Friendly Markets. They also received a 10-pound box of personal care items and a box of Avon products. These items are designed to help feed and provide essentials to a family of four for a full week.
The distribution is part of Feed The Children's Americans Feeding Americans Caravan, which has helped more than 300,000 families across the country since 2009. More than one in three children living in Buffalo is at risk of hunger.
