San Diego's WorldBeat Cultural Center is hosting a spectacular New Year's Eve Extravaganza in collaboration with Bhakti Fest, Sarva Dharma, and Sacred Spaces Village. The evening will be a benefit for Positive Hope, a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization which provides education and training to the community in alternative energies and sustainable living.

Join us as we Sing and Dance to the Divine in an ecstatic kirtan rock showcase of some of the most talented performers from this year's Bhakti Fest. Featured will be Jaya Lakshmi; The Breath of Life Tribe; Krishna's Kirtan; and Prem. There will also be performances with Legendary mantra mix and global beat master DJ Sharu, indigenous Aztec, African & Tribal Belly Dancers, WorldBeat All-Star Community Drum Circle, Fire Performers, Midnight Puja / Meditation. In addition, we will be offering vegetarian cuisine provided by World Famous Prophet Restaurant, Mighty High Chai Elixar & Tonic Bar, Coconut Bliss Bar, Universal Temple Dome, healing arts booth, world tribe vendors, yoga demonstrations, multi media visionary art and light displays, Bhakti Fest prizes and giveaways.

JAYA LAKSHMI began leading kirtan inspired by the deep devotional mood of Indian singing and music with harmonium and 12 string guitar and writing her own devotional songs in the early 1990’s on the island of Hawaii. She is also well known as the lead singer and songwriter for the band ‘Lost at Last’ a popular high energy tribal trance experience that toured extensively in the western US from 1997- 2005. Jaya Lakshmi expresses many singing styles and honors diverse spiritual traditions, singing prayers in several languages, including Native American, Arabic, and Sanskrit. THE BREATH OF LIFE TRIBE creates a dynamic experience, that leaves people relaxed AND charged. The deep healing adventure ranges from sacred chanting in Sanskrit and other languages, meditation, breathing, sound healing, dancing, and healing lights. The Tribe is an All-Star collaboration of great artists, teachers, shamans, and musicians of a broad array of backgrounds, which creates a depth in the sound, and in the delivery of the message of connection, unity, and love. Special guests often appear, but the core members are Christo Pellani on drums/percussion/healing bowls; Brandon Fox on guitar/vocals; Eddie Young on Cello/Bass/Flute; Cooper Madison on Tabla/Harmonium/Vocals/Sitar; and Deepak on Vocals/Violin/Guitar.
