I am in great awe of your carving skill, and in the process of getting proper chisels myself for mask carving (plus other things). You and I must meet someday, and you are always welcome to come to Calgary and you have a place to stay here too. This is great networking, I must say!

Forgive me for assuming you did digital work, although this is still a form of high expression in my books. I saw your oil works on paper and they resembled an effect you can get with some graphic programs.I see that on the paper work, you have sometimes folded the wet paper in half to get the luscious reflection. Say, living in Vancouver, you must be familiar with Emily Carr, so you must know that some of her oil on paper works are now disintegrating because it is very difficult to prevent the oils and solvents from eating that paper. How did you protect the paper surface on your paper paintings?

You are a fabulous painter and digital artist! And whatever else you do will also be fantastic. It is an honor to see your work and learn from you.

Greetings Raul
I looked at your website earlier, its magnificent!
Yes, all the images I have on my page are my creation. I worked with watercolor for years but now I do a lot of work with Photoshop. A number of the images you see on my page are used on my website for my book I'm in the process of releasing

I used to live in the Pacific Northwest, on Bainbridge Island. Beautiful area that you inhabit. :-)
Have a splendid weekend, my friend

Thanks, Raul. Good eye, sand-blasted glass etching, done by my friend Duane Dearborn. I took the picture with a candle behind it. Beautiful photos you've taken! Peace, joy and wildness, DJ
