Greg Bishop

Greg Bishop studied classical flute at the University of Idaho and achieved his Masters in Flute Performance at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. From there he relocated to Southern California to pursue freelancing. While working as a full time musician Greg began to branch out, playing in multiple styles, composing and singing lead and back-up vocals with several groups. Greg and his brother Theo co-wrote and co-produced "Fly Brother Fly" in1998 to critical acclaim. Greg is principle flute with Opera Idaho and The Oregon Coast Music Festival Orchestra. He has also appeared regularly with Spokane Symphony, Coeur d’Alene Summer Theater and Boise Philharmonic. Greg’s compositional influences include classical, jazz, pop, progressive rock, folk, new age, new acoustic and world music. Some of his favorite artists include all the symphonic masters, Pat Metheny, Roine Stolt, The Flower Kings, Carlos Santana, Eyal Amir, Paul Winter, Paul McCandless, Joannie Madden, Andreas Vollenveider, Yes, Jethro Tull, Steven Wilson, Peter Gabriel, Genesis and Hiromi.
