Today, January 11, 2009 Mercury is retrograde until February 1st .
Mercury rules the mind, thinking, perception, processing and disseminating information and all other means of communication, commerce, education and transportation, and all those in this line of work.

Also during this retrograde, Juno, Jupiter, the Sun, North Node, Nessus, Chirion and Neptune will all be in Aquarius which makes this a deeply powerful retrograde period.

Retrograde planets warn of a period of seemingly inevitable or fated events over which we seem to have little or no conscious control.

Aquarius is ruled by Uranus, a higher octave of Mercury. Where Mercury governs our mouth and mind, Uranus transforms our mouth and mind at lightning fast speed. There is something powerful, transforming and timeless about Uranus. It has the ability to help us conform to our soul’s truth beyond time.

This Mercury Retrograde phase invites us to get out of narrow, limited thinking or egoic mind, and tap into Higher Mind that will bring original ideas and fresh new insights and revolutionary, evolutionary thoughts.

Personally, I have a lot of Uranus activity in my chart right now and am certainly feeling the effects. Happily, all is positive change. I believe finding this website was guided by Uranus energy. I plan to use this Mercury retrograde period to review artistic techniques and search for new ways to apply them. Mercury is transiting my 6th house so I might have other surprises ahead.
