Some Inspiration for those involved with transformative media

I recently viewed a network television show, America's Got Talent, the destructive content of which was unsettling, to put it mildly.  I invite you to read the resulting article I posted.  It may provide you with some incentive to create your own powerful evolved content as counterpoints to what people see on television.

I see what we in this grooup are doing as a facet of what I call Heart Propaganda, a way of releasing the collectively-absorbed propaganda of foolish religion, corrupt government and mercenary media.  What we are doing has great potential and power as we have faith in ourselves and our visions.

TV has become an 'Opium of the People'. So many people are engrossed in the banal antics on Big Brother or who's getting voted off The X Factor and it seems this world inside the box has taken precedence over the real world around them. A friend of mine once started a FaceBook group demanding that some singer or other on the X Factor is given a record contract. It attracted 1000 members in four days. FB groups that address real life issues of importance struggle to reach 100 members maximum. What does this say about us? That we are all stupid and trivial? No. TV is designed to dumb-down the mindset of the masses. We watch the news and, to many, it isn't real... it's just another TV show.

This scares me!

TV is a very powerful medium that can be used to lift consciousness... alas, mainstream TV is designed to sink it into the mire.

Thanks for your reply, Ron. Seems like even on sites like this one, most people are either too absorbed in their own stuff or too distracted to bother with discussions of these things. Much of the "new age" community sees expression of any unpleasant truth to be a "downer". The problem is that one cannot get out of prison until one realizes that that is where they already reside. The old NLP truism applies: People will go much further to avoid pain that they will to get pleasure. To admit that we have allowed our bodies to be poisoned and our minds to be indoctrinated by lies is, at this point, too painful for most people. It's easier to stay in a funk, distracted and avoiding what is in front of our faces. The wake up calls will keep on coming until we do, indeed, wake up.

And, fear, as you expressed your own about this, appears to be a natural reaction. But our fear is all that is holding us back. The revolution is one of consciousness. We cannot become collectively conscious until enough of us are willing to see what is staring us in the face, and then share that reality with others. As more people respond to the revealation of truth with loving power rather than fear, doubt and powerlessness, we will transform ourselves.
