Here’s to the Warriors

 

Here’s to warriors,

The ones who fought the battles

In wars beyond comprehension

And came home to try to heal the pain

And scars that live on..

 

Here’s to the Ones who Survived,

Never being able to admit the ones

who died just might have had it easier.

 

Here’s to the ones who went to do

What they were told to do,

And then had to pay the price not only with their bodies,

But also with their hearts of steel,

Hearts now broken and battered,

Left with their cross of memories to bear,

 

Here’s to the Warriors, with their armor removed,

Just human beings,

People who are asked and told to do

What must be done,

Regardless of what the price to their Lives may be.

 

May your hearts be healed,

May your minds find peace,

May you be graced with a forgiveness

That allows you to find a Strength

That lasts beyond the time of engaging in Service.

 

Here’s to the Warriors who redeem their lives,

Who redeem their love,

And find a way to go on to find

a reason to live their dreams,

and find a way to live on

with peace in their Minds,

And God’s great Grace

Giving them the Power to heal their Hearts.
