John Ruggie, the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Business and Human Rights, has identified instances of applications of the U.N. “Protect, Respect and Remedy” Framework for advancing human rights. Ruggie spotlighted GE for modifying its "Statement of Principles on Human Rights" in response to the Framework, by more explicitly addressing its responsibility to "respect" human rights.
