Throughout many cultures and ages, kindness is seen as one of the important virtues for an individual to develop. Aristotle wrote that kindness is "helpfulness towards someone in need, not in return for anything, nor for the advantage of the helper himself, but for that of the person helped". When we adopt a kind attitude, we open ourselves to the Divine to reach across the divides that people create to connect and celebrate the simple joy of being human.
