Architects of a New Dawn

We’d like to show the side of the world you don’t normally see on television.

“Light is not so much something that reveals, as it is itself the revelation.”
-- James Turrell

"Presumptuous are the artists who do not follow their road through to the end. But chosen are those artists who penetrate to the region of that secret place where primeval power nurtures all evolution.
There, where the power-house of all time and space - call it the brain or heart of creation - activates every function; who is the artist who would not dwell there? In the womb of nature, at the source of creation, where the secret key to all lies guarded. But not all can enter. Each should follow where the pulse of their heart leads."
--Paul Klee

--------------------------------------------
We must prepare ourselves to embrace the sky. In order to hear the breath of the new day, we must cleanse our hearing and wipe away the old days.”
--Malevich

Art is Drinking Lightning. It is the perception and depiction of the sublime, the transcendent, the beautiful, the spiritual. Art is a window to The Infinite, and opening to the goddess, a portal through which you and I, with the help of the artist, may discover depths and heights of our soul undreamed of by the vulgar world. Art is the eye of the spirit, through which the sublime can reach down to us, and we up to it, and be transformed, transfigured in the process. Art, at its best, is the representation of your very own soul, a reminder of who and what you truly are and therefore can become." -- Ken Wilber

VILLET ---
“When entering my studio, I am usually expectant and a bit fearful. It would not surprise me if, on if, on opening the door, the work of the day before started to hum, sing, or give off Light!
The canvas can become a meditation on ancient things made light and surprising by a few marks that have the quality of childhood recovered, innocence renewed.”

COOMARASWAMY ---
“The art of thinking in images can make the verbal logic of philosophy seem pale.”

BAILEY ---
“I want to make work that is silent, that unfolds very slowly. Then seeing acquires the quality of ritual. The key is to stay with something and keep making it better, cleaner, more resonant, more intense!”

KOTANI ---
“Art must participate in the mystery and evoke it with love and subtlety. The nature of perception, imagination and the creative process is very enigmatic!
I need to imagine a whole, a universe beyond what might be called mundane. In my commitment to the craft of painting, full of tension between thought and act, I seek to realize an almost invisible conjunction of form and color, thought and emotion. I hope I am moving toward greater articulation and clarity of expression, bound only by the responsibility of sustaining a unified vision!”

WILLIAM BLAKE ---
“More is to be gained from an art that looks toward the Light, toward displaying The Infinite which was hid, than toward the darkness.”

---------------------------

"Through our intuition the Universal can become so active that it pushes aside our personality. Then art reveals itself. Art is the means through which we can know the Universal.
"The desire for freedom is inherent due to the universal in us. We have an urge to regain the original unity and the new art can show the way."
--Piet Mondrian

"The unfriendliness of society to ones activity is difficult for the artist to accept, but freed from a false sense of security and community, transcendental experiences become possible."
--Mark Rothko

“Something sacred, …that’s it, - we ought to be able to say that word, or something like it, but people would take it the wrong way, and give it a meaning that wasn’t intended. We ought to be able to say such and such a painting is as it is, with its capacity for power because it has been touched by God. But people would put a wrong interpretation on it.”
--Pablo Picasso

"The relatively few authentic creators of our time possess a resonance with eternity. Art is both the taking and giving of beauty, the turning out to the light the inner folds of the awareness of the spirit." --Ansel Adams

“It always manifests Itself when conscious or rational knowledge has reached its limit and mystery sets in.”
-- Carl Jung

"Through our intuition the Universal can become so active that it pushes aside our personality. Then art reveals itself. Art is the means through which we can know the Universal."
--Piet Mondrian

Hi Candice! Thanks for the note. You've got me curious. What world do you personally experience?

You are clearly an artist and one moved by art. That's a world I don't personally experience but appreciate your peek into these feelings.
