For those who aren’t into being hypnotized and tranced up only to feel confused and unaware, who prefer healthy consciousness and being psychically cleansed in a world overloaded with negative energy, come dance and become pleasurably mindful among other awakened music fans. Chris Bramble’s music will have you feeling alive and rapt and will open your eyes. Come step away from the anesthetic of repetitive resonance of most mainstream music toward the awakening of the heart by unprocessed music that moves the body into spiritual enchantment to inspire hope, not hollow distraction or nothingness. “Musically, the album runs the same gamut as the live shows: well crafted songs with an emphasis on groove and danceability. ‘Won’t Get Lost That Way’ is a perfect example,” says Bramble. It’s a perfect example of his groove and connection to the world enfolded with his insights about life. Chris Bramble is a soulful guitarist and singer and his variety of sounds brings forward a contradictory and harmonious musical tapestry of ballads, roots-rock, free-jazz flourishes, and nonstop joyful refrains that keep the mood lively and sprouty. Come dance and listen to lyrics that reflect on the world around us.
“For Those With Eyes To See” is the natal CD of 2010 from the Chris Bramble Band. The CD release party for the latest album from conscious psychedelic folk-rock artist Chris Bramble is also a benefit for Food Not Bombs and will be held on March 26th at Guayaki Mate Bar/Café in Sebastopol. Music starts at 8:00 pm (doors at 7) and the CD will be available at the show. Folks loved the debut CD (“Laugh at the Wind”), released in 2006 and it attracted legendary artist Stanley Mouse who created the cover of “For Those With Eyes To See.” To anyone aware of the art and music scene from the 60’s & 70’s, Stanley Mouse is best known for his psychedelic rock concert poster designs and album cover art. One of the most beloved images that he created alongside American artist Alton Kelley is the skeleton and roses image that became the Grateful Dead’s iconographic archetype.
Says Bramble, “Stanley’s art for the album embodies what I strive for in my music – multi-layered & complex, but with heart at its center and limitless sky as the backdrop. Elements from his art were used to create the rest of the graphic design.” His cover art is a delightful visual addition to the music.
