Announcing Gangs of The Kosmos Readings

Doraine Poretz, a founding member of the Venice Poetry Workshop at Beyond Baroque and poet/teacher of the writing/reading workshop series, Writing Down The Music of Your Life, will host and facilitate a new series of poetry and prose poem readings at the Mystic Journey Bookstore. Every other month, on a Sunday afternoon, poets and/or lovers of poetry will read their own work or the work of others, inspired by the world’s sacred traditions.
Amanda Foulger, poet and shamanic practitioner, will initiate the series, and read from her new book, Dewpoint. Ms. Foulger is on the faculty of The Foundation for Shamanic Studies and has a broad background in spiritual study and practice for over thirty years. Her work is infused with a sense of the spirit in all things as well as her own shamanic connections and experiences. These poems are sure to arrest and move you with their beauty and mystery.


After the reading there will be time to discuss the poems as well as any influences upon them that have grown out of Ms. Foulger’s dedication to the shamanic tradition.
