I wonder if gratefulness is the bridge from sorrow to joy, spanning the chasm of our anxious striving. Freed from the burden of unbridled desires, we can enjoy what we have, celebrate what we've attained, and appreciate the familiar. For if we can't be happy now, we'll likely not be happy when.

I am grateful for this life, this here and now. I will be truly grateful when I can escape this cycle of life and re-birth and achieve nirvana. I guess I have ten thousand more births - lives - and deaths to go!

I am so grateful for starting off the week with an early AM meditation then walking on beach of uninhabited island to check the turtle nests. A wonderful event occured for one of the volunteers, who recently lost her husband, she was walking on a public beach and came across some enthralled tourists gathered around a wild nest that was hatching. She knew which scientist to call to come and help maximize the number of little turtles getting from the dunes down to the ocean. It was so healing for her grieving as to come across an unknown nest at just the right time (they usually hatch at night) is almost miraculous. I am so grateful that Nature provided her that healing gift. thanks, ron
