Thank you God for this wonderful page. As a Life Coach, I like to suggest to clients to be grateful the moment you wake up each day, being mindful of your foot placement on the floor (your first steps of the day) and saying a gratitude statement of your choice. I say, "Thank you God for this beautiful day.Let me walk in your way and do your will. And so it is." Thank you to everyone for your beautiful and inspiring comments.

I am grateful to my body for the healing journey it is guiding me through, and I am grateful to this magnificent Universe for all my blessings, and for the blessings to come. I am filled with love.

I'm grateful to know that if life hands me the lemon, I can make lemonade! Even if I have to start over, there is excitement in the new adventure.

I'm grateful for handfuls of bright green spinach and red radishes pulled from the greenhouse while snow flurries danced on the wind. I'm grateful for chaos.

Last night at a prayer/meditation gathering, a friend told me that a shaman in Ecuador told her that "Thoughts were things." If thoughts are things, then cleaning the clutter from your mind is like clearing the clutter from your room.
Your mind is more open and peaceful, just as your room would be.

Another reason to be grateful for "being spared" (one of my favorite teacher's stock replies to loss - Byron Katie) by Mom in leaving me out of her will.

When I feel gratitude for everything, I am in bliss - a feeling of supreme happines. I have to be "praying without ceasing" or in "mindfulness" or better a combination best described by Brother David Steindl-Rast, who I first encountered at a Zen Buddhist Center. Here is a great book he wrote about this powerul combo: (this is from amazon)
Gratefulness, The Heart of Prayer: An Approach to Life in Fullness by David Steindl-Rast and Henri J. M. Nouwen (Paperback - Aug 1984)

gratefulness, the heart of prayer (An Approach to Life in Fullness) by Brother David Steindl-Rast. Here is one of his quotes: "But if we call it mindfulness or wholehearted living, it is easier to recognize prayer as an attitude that should characterize all of our activities. The more we come alive and awake, the more everything we do becomes prayer." p. 48

Aloha nui,
My Grateful and Humble ways have me understand that there is Beauty in all that has a spirit within. The absolute knowing that all living things have a spirit to be cherished , loved, excepted and given to it's fullest potential. Beauty is not just in the eyes of the beholder, It is purely in our Pu'uwai (Hearts).
