I'm grateful the world is born new. Over and over. In season and spirit. Thank you for today.

I am grateful for the people God sends through our lives. There is a reason that these people cross our lives. They all have something God wants them to teach us in this journey we call earthly life. Thank you Dr. Aron for crossing paths with me over the years. You taught me the true meaning of humility. Rest In Peace. I will miss you loads. xoxoxo

Practicing gratitude shapes my emotional experience and that changes what I draw to me for the day. Today I am grateful for the blessing to live near the ocean and I am off to do my practice on the beach this beautiful Easter morning.

I appreciate the beautiful lakes that lie in Northern Colorado. Something so simple as taking a walk around the lake ,sharing smiles and "hi" with everyone
gives me much joy.

I've been feeling the blues for the past week now and always find myself crying. I miss being with my family and my son. Working overseas and being away from your loved ones and familiar territory could really get you down...this morning when I woke up I found myself crying uncontrollably in front of my image of Mother Mary. Then while having breakfast and watching the news, I saw a feature about the cholera epidemic in Zimbabwe and again, I started crying. I just felt guilty that I seem to forget I'm in a lot better situation than these people...I should be grateful for what I have right now, for what I am right now. Again, this demonstrated to me that every time I'm in the dumps, I should start counting my blessings.

I get voicemail in which my son tells me as he is coming out of Tae Kwon Do: "Daddy I just got a medal, aren't you proud of me?" I am, but I am also proud of your mom who cares for you just as much as I do. These are moments when all the suffering is not in vain. As I let go the fight, resentment, and make the amend the beauty of existence manifests.

Today I am grateful for:
1) sleep, when I'm tired as heck
2) My sister, who has been my lifelong "running buddy" so to speak.
3) Popcorn and comedy to put a 5 year old to bed
4)That am learning to shut up the noise upstairs
5) The thought of catching fish at the pier in the morning

There is always a lot to be thankful for, if you take the time to look. For example, I'm sitting here thinking how nice it is that wrinkles don't hurt. ~Author Unknown

Remember to Be Happy

The sign hangs on the wall of a bagel shop: "Don't forget to be happy." Sometimes we get so bogged down in dealing with feelings, issues, problems --- the realities and details of our lives --- we forget to be happy. Often happiness can be ours if we just remember to be happy. Joy is a choice --- a deliberate, conscious choice. That choice is available to us each day. Our joy isn't controlled by others or by outward circumstances. Joy comes from a deeper place, a place of security within ourselves. It's an attitude, not a transitory emotion.

Remember to be kind. Remember to be loving. Remember to feel all your feelings and to take care of yourself. But most of all, remember to be Happy.
