Banorte becomes part of the SumaRSE Network

Last February 8, Banorte, together with other companies from the state of Nuevo León, signed a cooperation agreement to begin working on the SumaRSE Network initiative, an alliance in Nuevo León that promotes the development of projects for strengthening the social fabric and citizens participation. Prominent civic, academic and government organizations will audit and measure its effectiveness and scope.

By adhering to the Nuevo León SumaRSE Network, Banorte takes an additional step in strengthening its “Community Commitment” pillar, striving to foster the development of some communities undergoing adverse conditions, in Nuevo León.

This initiative, which began in the first few years of last decade, was renewed because of the destruction caused by hurricane “Alex” in the area. Its objective is to create projects for strengthening the social fabric, that is, to build trusting relationships amongst the members of those communities where the support actions will be carried out.

At the same time, the goal of the SumaRSE Network is to make sounder the competencies of community members, allowing the people living in the community to participate effectively and in a self-suggestive manner, when solving those problems that have a particular impact on them.

Banorte reasserts its commitment with the state it was born in, together with a group of 20 companies and organizations that signed a cooperation agreement to begin working on this initiative; having three years to show the first results. Prominent civic, academic and government organizations will audit and measure the effectiveness and scope of the initiative.
