EVOLUTION 2012 – NOT THE END OF THE WORLD

There are many views in the media regarding 2012 and the many scenarios we could experience when December 21, 2012 finally arrives. Articles and books abound, directing our attention to the worst possible experiences, stoking the fires of fear, hopelessness and helplessness. Our attention is consistently invited to consider an abundance of life threatening possibilities such as tsunamis, earthquakes, volcanoes, solar flares and tectonic plate shifts. How could we possibly survive on Earth’s surface? Why are we denied access to the secret underground cities and shelters, vaguely rumored and hinted about by conspiracy theorists, available only to the elite and those same politicians who have run our system into the muck and mire of deceit, corruption and greed? We question, “Why should they be allowed to survive? Why aren’t these protections being offered to us? Haven’t our high taxes paid for all of this? What’s going on here?”

There are answers to all the above questions and we can run ‘round and ‘round in circles trying to answer them or, we could look to Consciousness as the only answer we need. To become aware of ourselves as moving toward a more evolved state of consciousness supports our progress from Human Being-ness to Humane Being-ness. Arriving at this awareness allows us to recognize all life as interconnected – we realize we are not separate from the entirety of the Whole. We can no longer ignore the impact our presence imparts and we realize that our participation holds us accountable to change. We are able to stand and transform any current challenges and prepare for any possible future.

Albert Einstein said, “The more Knowledge we acquire, the more mystery we find. A human being is part of the Whole, called by us, the Universe – A part limited by time and space. She, or he, experiences one self, one’s thoughts and feelings, as something separate from the rest – a kind of optical illusion of consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison, for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves, from this prison, by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures, and the whole of nature in its beauty.”

To embrace our experience, not deny it, is one of the keys to “freedom through consciousness” To understand that as we evolve creation evolves, further awakens the realization of our inner connectedness with all life. We are vehicles for change and evolution.

Embracing our experience - the mystery of what the future might bring, and all the feelings this brings up for us - is essential to our evolutionary process. This is how we grow and awaken even more profoundly. The answer is not to be found in running scared and focusing only upon our physical survival. In fact, we don't need to be limited by only one answer! Answers can be found within introspection and change, accepting cultural differences and seeing value in what others have to offer, and forming communities having strong foundations built upon awareness, integrity, and progressive consciousness.

When we extend our understanding into accepting the possibility that what has previously been called Christ is an evolved state of consciousness available to everyone who embraces it as such, we begin to face challenges from a responsive, rather than an emotionally reactive positioning. We are no longer governed by a fear based survival orientation. We question and prepare to deal with any answers that come our way with sanity, calm, and reason. In this way, we begin to live as the solution rather than the problem. We no longer carry negativity forward into the future with us; we become the changes we want to see in our world.

There will be external changes, in fact, they have already begun! Intense weather patterns speak to the imbalance brought about by our self absorbed disregard for how we have lived upon our Earth’s surface far too long. Big Business and Government are being exposed more and more every day. It is our responsibility to stand up and say, “No more!” If we do not, then we get to live with the continuation of deceit and depravity.
We could turn our attention away from the “celebrity aristocracy” hungering for our constant attention and re-engage in our lives through mindful participation. We can begin to address the “homeless situation” by recovering the rejected potentialities of ourselves – those aspects of ourselves that never felt approval, acceptance, appreciation, support, and love – we can bring them back home to our awareness, remember, and integrate them as the pure potential we were intended to express. I believe that the “homeless” we see wandering our streets are an external representation of inner separation from our authentic selves and our potential. The more separate we become from that inner authenticity of being, the more we suffer mentally, emotionally, and physically.

It is past time to wake up to the fact that not choosing is a choice! To not speak out is the same as approving the continuation of “what is!” Somewhere, along the way to evolution, we began to believe that all we need do is affirm and imagine the opposite of what is, and name any current disorder “Gods order unfolding perfectly according to plan!” I have even heard it said, “We don’t want to give it too much attention or we might feed it!” We began to see abundance only as financial wealth and the acquisition of “stuff” that reflects to others that we must be doing well! Evolving our consciousness is not simply about how well we play the game of manipulating matter and form – integrity and intent must also come into play! Integrity or lack thereof, directs intent, and intent guides experience.

If we understand Jesus as having achieved a state of Consciousness available to all who would choose it, we must also understand that what we call God is within us! This is true abundance – the knowledge of, and recognized ability to evolve that spark of God/Consciousness within us! And, I quote, “The Kingdom of Heaven is within….” “The father within does the work.” I believe this for me, and I believe it for you, as much as I believe it was true for Jesus. I am consistently amazed at how few religions teach the availability of these things as being present within us; and, how few truly follow and live according to the words of the personage they profess to follow and worship.

I do not believe the great plan for Human Beings was ever about being bound to the chains of religious ideologies that keep us waiting, in co-dependent manner, to be saved; Perhaps it is we who found it easier to be led, rather than study into deeper mysteries contained within ancient texts that might - more profoundly - return us to ourselves. Nor are we to wait for Christ to return and lift us from the devastation we have created and continue to live carelessly from day in and day out! I believe we are accountable and responsible through our choices, to the power and presence within – the Consciousness that has been called the Christ – awakening at this time in our evolutionary development. It is not meant for us to lie down, hide out, and cower over anything 2012 might – or might not – present. Nor is it meant for us to feed the fear, breeding escalation into paralyzing terror.

In not knowing ourselves as Consciousness, we have persistently re-created our shared Human experience from ignorance of ourselves. Unless we awaken – genuinely awaken – we will continue to do so. With little forethought, we have directed ourselves in violent and brutal directions for most of our history. Instead of seeking understanding and respecting differences we seek avenues of agitation to feel justified in committing ourselves to actions long decided before we step up and into them. We have used our potential as Consciousness in creative albeit destructive ways.

We have blatantly disregarded nature and the fragile balance found in the interconnectivity of all living things. We have decided that most of life is beneath us, because it lacks our criterion for awareness and ability for reason; and, more then this, we should direct how it is supposed to exist! What if all life is Consciousness expressing as it is meant to express for its intended purpose, and it is we who do not see this?

The choices we make in the present bear great weight and consequence into how we will experience 2012 when it arrives. It is a process not an event; and, it isn’t about waiting for 2012 to “happen to us”. The only point of power any of us ever hold is to be fully present right here-right now with self-awareness. To align our integrity and intent collectively as Consciousness can be a powerful vehicle for transformation. It is time for us to delve deeply into ourselves, mine and bring forth the potent potential we discover within, stand strong in our “Self-Recovery”, and be the instruments of change through directive evolution we are meant to be!
