Architects of a New Dawn

We’d like to show the side of the world you don’t normally see on television.

You don’t have to go skydiving to experience freedom. You don’t have to be rich. You don’t have to be poor. You don’t have to be single. You don’t have to be married. You don’t have to be straight or gay. You don’t have to have certain thoughts and not others. You don’t have to have faith. You don’t have to meditate. You don’t have to know right from wrong. You don’t have to behave and you don’t have to rebel.

You don’t have to… That’s freedom.

We have all heard that we shouldn’t should… and yet, just doing whatever you want isn’t going to get you very far either. The world has consequences. Your life and your choices matter. You matter.

The key for me is to notice the thoughts, fears and the “shoulds” that trap me… and then do what I’m committed to… one of my commitments is to be empowered by my fears. I am afraid of heights... and so, of course, I took a week long skydiving course. Skydiving solo without an instructor is the most liberating experience of my life. What’s yours? What’s it going to be? Try this… It starts when you hear yourself saying “I can’t”, now choose to say “I will…” or better yet, “I must”.

Will Power is your capacity to keep your commitments in spite of your fears, losses and good reasons. This capacity is the key to courage, strength, integrity, and leadership.

And for some, “I won’t” can be just as powerful. If you think you’re driven by “shoulds”, try saying “I won’t” more often. A generous “No” is much more empowering than placating someone with an obligatory “Yes”. Commitment requires focus… and that often requires a few No’s.
