Actually, my dear Marian. I mislabeled that merrygoround. It is antique one that is still running in Monterey after over 70 years. Yes, I spent 14 years in Northern California ('85-99) - went to Antioch for grad. school from 1985 to 1987. I interned at Jerry Jampolsky's Center for Attitudinal Healing. And traveled all over especially enjoying Mendocino, Monterey, Yosemite, White Valley (other side of Yosemite), Maripose Sequioa Trees in South Yosemite. I loved Big Sur and especially Esalen. I ended up being a teacher's assistant there for a short while.
Previous to California, for 12 years, (73-85) I taught Marine Science under Sail in the Bahamas with a Marine Science Station in Stanyan(?) Creek, Andros. We spent 99 % of our time in the Out Islands, sometimes coming into Nassau to re-fuel and use the airport. I finished my stay there at the Paradise Island Yoga Retreat, where I a became a yoga teacher. I also studied at Yogi Anais Desai's Kripalu Institute. I became the first yoga teacher in my little homport of Beaufort,. N.C.
Perious to the BAhamas, I spent a few years in Ft. Lauderdale, as a Clinical Pathologist (ASCP), which was my first profession.
Yes, it is quite healing to be working with the family instead of feeling like an outcaste. I am enjoying our connection.
Whew! Rough place to be a captain. Isn't Albion famous for their shell fish? lotsapeace, ron

Has to be the season for déjà vu Ron - I just checked your pix after seeing your Aunt in front of the Mendocino merry-go-round. Too much... I think we must have been following each other round the globe - your Eleuthera green turtles, my 3 years in Albion, CA your ? my three years in Nassau, Bahamas, your Marine Lab bioluminescence... there's a Little River betw. Albion & Mendocino & I almost gulped when I saw one on your NC map - but - what it's all saying, I think, is your wonderful opportunity to care for your Aunt Jo is meant to be and the healing is a mavellous thing, isn't it? You seem to have given up all resentment (if you ever had any) and the Universe is letting us see stuff we weren't able to absorb before. You are doing great, old friend, just great. So how long ago were your Mendocino days? Mine were 1969-1972! If my webcam were working I could show you an old pic of a fishing boat I once 'captained' (v. briefly!!!!!) from Albion Flats..... maybe when it's fixed....
Have a blessed Christmas and know your angels are with you.
Esp. your Mom if this was her time... don't grieve - she's at your shoulder x Marian

hello Ron - sending you an eco-friendly seasonal tree - my slowest grower: I think she's forgotten how to spread her wings... all the snow doesn't help!
conifer,nordmannii
This also comes with a bunch of solstitial and Christmas wishes because I'm feeling there is something in the air. So connecting with like minds...! I remember having a 'practice run' last year on solstice of being alone and taking the time to see it from within. I guess that makes it wow-factor for this year's solstitial solitude. Snow piled high outside so I couldn't go anywhere even if I wanted to; took 3 days to write a blog, but that is all part of it. I hope you don't mind: I've added your lovely blogspot blog as a link to my page at
http://siderealview.wordpress.com/

Do you feel something in the air, too? Your blog seems to intuit that.

May 2010 be a miracle year for us all to manifest what we've been practising for so long in silence... thank you for your friendship & inspiration x Marian

Ron, I am delighted to be your friend. Having been born in Charlotte N.C. and raised there untill age 13 when I moved to Texas, I spent summers in Myrtle Beach. It is my understanding it has change alot and I would not reconize it. I still keep fond memories of my childhood fun there close to my heart.
Pink Clouds of loving friendship,
Kay

Greetings Ron! Glad to hear you will be coming to our beautiful mountains. Unfortunately, I will be in Austin, TX that weekend co-facilitating a nonviolence training workshop. Enjoy your visit and hopefully you'll find yourself back here again soon.
In peace,
Ymani

thought you might! sometimes pro-active peace is called for!
if our generation hadn't had peace marches, nobody would've questioned war; now we are being asked to speak up about spirituality (I believe), not just practise it privately, but openly discuss! makes sense as we move fw as a 'group'... must be full moon talking - I've been getting pretty outrageous lately but no more outrageous than you being an example of peace...:) I think we might be making some headway...
