Kenny Johnson: Loving Yourself- Sunday, August 7, 7pm
Kenny Johnson joins us to speak about his book The Last Hustle and to share his warmth, insights and experiences.
Kenny devoted his life to crime, beginning in his early teens, and served over twenty years in various city, county, state, and federal prisons. During his early years in prison, he spent most of his time participating in a variety of religious and substance abuse groups. Eventually Kenny met Gangaji in one of these groups, which precipitated a revolution in his heart and an opening of his mind.
Among Kenny's gifts are his authenticity and grittiness, as well as an infectious warmth and sense of humor. With these gifts, Kenny now returns to prisons and carrying a message of love.
"If there is anything worth serving, it's this love. If there is anything worth being, it's this love. If there is anything worth talking about it's this love. If there is anything of real value it's this love". - Kenny Johnson
Join us on Sunday evening at 1924 Cedar Street in Berkeley at 7pm. There is no need for reservations and though there is a suggested donation of $10-15, all are welcome to attend regardless of donation.
