Bill your afternoon in Prague sounds fabulous. I would love to see Prague. My friend's husband goes there often for business. He gets to go everywhere.

I gave one of my friends a Stan Getz CD and her husband said "Bossa Nova no one listens to that anymore". He can't help it he is Mr. Opinion and has one on every subject.

Marinspin.......Brazilian jazz is very relaxing. I mentioned to Ernesto earlier that my wife and I were in Prague some years ago for a few days ( beautiful city..highly recommended ). While wandering about some of the narrow back streets we heard faintly in the distance Brazilian jazz being played. We followed the music to a dark little cafe' bistro kind of place. It was recorded, and played over a state-of-the-art sound system, that made it sound live! I'll never forget that afternoon. It re-introduced me to Bossa Nova all over again. There's agreat disc of instrumentals featuring Charley Byrd ( Bird?? ) and Stan Getz. Of course The Girl From Ipanema and Destafinado are the Iconic classics.

Before I ran away to move to Brazil in my early twenties I played a old Stan Getz recording of The Girl From Ipanema into the ground every morning on some horrible record player I had in my bedroom. I called my father up from the Caribbean to let him know the truth that I was not just going to Mexico for a month. He hit the ceiling and said that he should never have taken me to Brazil in the first place and two that he should have known what I was up to when I played that Stan Getz album into the ground every day.

I am grateful that I did get to see Astrud Gilberto sing The Girl From Ipanema at the North Sea Festival and I am very very grateful I had a family that took me traveling. I feel very fortunate because I love to travel.

Music is magical and life changing at times.

I am incredibly thankful for music and it's healing abilities - especially Brazilian music. I look like some well known in Brazil Brazilian singer whose name I can't even remember. When I was in Brazil people use to stop me on the street to tell me I looked like her. Twilight Zone... My grandfather who was Eastern European was born in San Paulo. His parents stopped in Brazil on their way to the USA. My dad (his son) was in San Paulo leading a tour the day his my grandfather died in the USA. More Twilight Zone....

That's very cool. I have a similar story but my instrument is the Guitar. I like all the same stuff you do basically. Big on Blues and Classic Rock.

I'm grateful to have some things in common with you, now we can discuss some stuff we agree on like "Kind of Blue" and Bossa Nova, I speak Portuguese and actually survived a 7 year marriage to a Brazilian Carioca man-eating Tigress. But it was exciting..... :)

We can talk music on another thread, but I do want to tell you more, if ok with you.

I am grateful for mother nature with her magical paint brush and the beautiful rainbow I saw above Sebastopol today.

I am grateful for the calves and green velvet grass covering everything not to mention the plum and cherry trees are starting to bloom and the magnolias.

I am thankful for having such a nice day and beautiful drive and such good organic food to eat.

I am thankful for my yoga teacher and incredible yoga school that keeps me grounded and feels like home and my fellow yogis and yoginis.

I am thankful for another beautiful day with wonderful people on this amazing planet.
