Architects of a New Dawn

We’d like to show the side of the world you don’t normally see on television.

Featured Broadcast Segments Planned for 2010

1) Millennium Development Goals

The 2009 Peace Day Broadcast focused a single hour on each of the United Nations Millennium Develop Goals, defining what they are and the challenges involved in achieving them. This year's Broadcast will show the progress that has been made over the last year.  We will dedicate time in this year's broadcast to explain each of the Millennium Development Goals.

The Eight United Nations Millennium Development Goals:

2) Youth Peace Ambassador Interviews:

During the 2009 Peace Day Broadcast, Youth Peace Ambassadors interviewed Michael Franti, and Joan Baez, this year we have scheduled interviews by Youth Peace Ambassadors with Yuval Ron, the Dean of Peace, and others. We will pursue an interview time with the following listed current United Nations Messengers of Peace:

Jane Goodall Stevie Wonder Charlise Theron George Clooney Michael Douglas

3) Peace One Day

A special look at the history of the International Day of Peace and the efforts of Jeremy Gilley to establish the first ever annual day of global ceasefire and non-violence with a fixed calendar date.

In 1999, preoccupied with questions about the fundamental nature of humanity and the most pressing issues of our time, filmmaker Jeremy Gilley launched Peace One Day and set out to find a starting point for peace. He had a mission: to document his efforts to establish the first ever annual day of global ceasefire and non-violence with a fixed calendar date.

Remarkably, two years on, he achieved his primary objective when the 192 member states of the United Nations unanimously adopted 21 September as an annual day of global ceasefire and non-violence on the UN International Day of Peace. We call that day Peace Day.

4) Entertainment

Musical entertainment acts are now being solicited and accepted for participation in the Peace Day 2010 Broadcast Event.

Participants from the music industry may be cut too for live performances in various celebratory locations around the globe, or may simply give permission to use a music video for inclusion in the segment line-up.  Current Entertainers agreeing to use of their material include:

  • Yuval Ron Ensemble: endeavors to alleviate national, racial, religious and cultural divides by uniting the music and dance of the opposing people of the Middle East into a unique mystical, spiritual and inspiring musical celebration.
  • Price of Silence (Ensemble), Amnesty International ~ see video below
  • Peace One Day 2008 Gala Celebration ~ see video below

5) Human Rights

Time will be dedicated this year during the Peace Day Broadcast to reports on development in areas effecting Human Rights.  Often overlooked is the fact that the observance of human rights is also an indicator of development. The Millennium Development Goals and human rights have much in common, as injustice and discrimination are key contributors to poverty and hunger.

The brochure entitled "The Millennium Development Goals and Human Rights" will be showcased the link between development and human rights, and vividly shows how working to achieve the Millennium Development Goals will also result in progress on human rights.

6) Global Oneness Project: Local Voices for a Global Future

Exploring how the radically simple notion of interconnectedness can be lived in our increasingly complex world. Since 2006, they have been traveling the globe gathering stories from people who base their lives and work on the understanding that we bear great responsibility for each other.

With the advent of communications technologies like the Internet, interconnectedness is made easier, in conjunction and support of this segment we plan a segment focusing on the impact of virtual communities.

* Permission not yet sought for Broadcast of Global Oneness video's

7) Virtual Economies & Community

In depth look at the rise and impact of global communities in cyberspace, and the alternative economies they spawn.  Can virtual wealth create real world prosperity, can those in developing nations create wealth and import it into their local communities by offering creative digital products such as music, software, marketing, art, and the like to the global digital marketplace?  If developing countries are going to rise out of poverty without using all their local natural resources to create products from they will need an alternative; the ability for example to earn from shooting a lion video instead of a lion for his skin to make a living through distribution of that digital product to the global marketplace.

"Is it possible that virtual world economies might make a gross impact equivalent to that of a real country? Actually, yes. Virtual worlds are already that big, economically speaking." ~ Virtual World Economy: It's Namibia Basically

Elisabetta Errani Emaldi's poem

Love

Love is the light that brings peace into the

hearts of human beings and in the world.

Peace is a rare diamond, fruit
of the energy of  pure love.

Peace will never enter

in man’s impure heart.

Divine love is a powerful infusion of energy
that gives life, light, and lets nature grow.
Warming the heart of the Earth and humanity.

Love is the energy of the great Architect
who uses it to continue creating
the infinite Universe.

Man is the little Divine Creator,
but when he forgets to be so, he loses himself
in the blinds alleys of his sick mind and
becomes the architect of darkness,
transforming himself into a demon
sowing suffering and death.

Love is the light that brings peace into the

hearts of human beings and in the world.
