Yet even the cow dung can be used as fertilizer at the dawn
while the nightingales sing like an oboe
as red tree base wide towers to a bright blue sky
we find peace to bring as a gift given with heart and soul in union

. . . and it was
upon reflection that i could see
that no one was looking,
no one but me.
and that in itself was enough
to set me free.
And the sounds of music played as a celebration
Yet my soul still crying for Iraq
then she turned to me and said
Where is your heart
That lies the freedom and peace?
Is joy and laughter equals the sounds of bullets and tears?

Then we just stood there gazing into the space between us
And saw it was full of both pain and a place for healing.
lush ferns breath beneath the redwoods hush
softly arriving earth-mother smell delivers a punch of wistful nostalgia
I cry, eyes high
