Hello all, I am a 62 year old white male of Scandinavian descent, from Minnesota. I guess I am a sort of a cliche!

I have a particular interest in very broad sustainability issues, maybe they are macro-sustainability ones. I am Ass't VP for Facilities at one the really great midwest liberal arts institutions, St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN.

I love music of all kinds, books of all kinds, being outdoors as much as possible. My kids and I road trip to see folks like Tom Petty, Steve Miller, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Moody Blues, and of course, Santana. I am probably a pantheist, and said I was until I learned that there was a pantheist movement. I still feel like that's the right way to think about the biggest issues.

I am a husband, 37 years, father - 3 boys and a girl, and Grampa to Ethan, 4; Owen and Dylan, two; and Linnea Rose, not quite two.
