I was probably surfing aimlessly, drifting in a sea of Internet dross, going under for the third time when I was washed ashore. Gasping for air, I looked up and noted that the very seagulls were calling "Peace an' Light, guv. Know wot I mean? Peace an' Light an' all that innit?" and I thought "I'm SAVED!!"

I've been a castaway on this island ever since. Last week, I put a message in a bottle. It said "HELP!" and I cast it into the ocean. This morning a bottle washed ashore with a message in it. That one said "Your cry for help has been passed to the relevant authority and you should receive an appropriate response in due course"

With any luck, we might all get rescued.
